Q: How are you?
A: I just came down a little bit wrong, hyperextended [my knee] a little bit, but I won't be missing any time. I'll be back out there this afternoon.
Q: Was it on the play in the end zone when Terrell Thomas had the pass defense? What happened?
A: Yeah that was the play. I just came down kind of straight legged and hyperextended it a little bit. It was one of those things that just hurt for a second but they wanted to check it out to make sure that it wasn't anything serious because it looked a lot worse.
Q: Were you nervous right away? Did you sense that something might be wrong?
A: No I didn't think that there was anything wrong with it but it was something I wanted to get checked out because for that slight second I felt a little something but I felt like I was fine and I was relieved when the results came back.
Q: Two MRIs? Just being extra careful?
A: Well they said that the first one wasn't clear enough for them so they wanted to double check and make sure.
Q: How relieved are you?
A: I'm very relieved because on film it looked a lot worse but I'm just blessed and happy to still be out here.
Q: I know you had a good rookie season but how important is it for you to get these reps in?
A: I feel like I've missed enough time missing the spring so I'm ready to get after it now and I'm all about time now. It's getting to crunch time now. Going into our second week of camp I'm going to try to pick it up a lot more and I just want to continue to do better.
Q: Was the first year about learning terminology and all that? Are you more comfortable with all of that stuff now and maybe more able to focus on what is going on, on the field instead of in the play book?
A: Yeah, definitely. I think I've got the playbook down pact now. It's just a matter of me getting back out there and repetition and getting back into game shape and to keep making plays.
Q: Did you ever have any knee injuries before?
A: No, I've never had any knee issues before.
Q: Did they say how long you're going to stay on one-a-days?
A: The plan is that by next week I plan to be full-go. Two-a-days all next week.
Q: You would have been on one-a-days now though regardless, right?
A: Oh yeah, regardless of what happened. The trainers told me they didn't want to pound it right away during the first week of camp. They wanted to give it some time because they've dealt with similar injuries in the past.
Q: After what happened last year when you did have a couple of injuries that really bugged you, were you thinking, "I can't believe this is happening"?
A: That ran through my mind but it's part of football and it's part of the game and you have to take whatever comes with it.
Q: Did Domenik Hixon run through your mind too?
A: No, not really. I didn't think it was that serious.
Q: It wasn't serious obviously, but you still had to be carted off, what's that feeling like?
A: Like I said, I didn't really feel that it was that serious so it didn't really strike me that I was going to be out for the whole season or something like that. It was just a little ouch at the moment. Once I got up and walked off it was fine.
Q: It's still got to be a strange feeling being driven off the field while all the rest of your teammates are walking off…
A: I mean, yeah, if you look at it that way.
Q: Did you have the option? Or did they just tell you to get on the cart?
A: Nah, they just told me to get on the cart and when they told me to get on the cart I got on the cart.
