Saturday, Oct. 18

7:00 p.m. -- The New York Giants made the following roster moves Saturday ahead of their Week 7 matchup against the Denver Broncos.

Activated, from Practice Squad (Standard Elevation)

  • LB Zaire Barnes
  • WR Lil'Jordan Humphrey

Activated, from Reserve

  • OLB Victor Dimukeje

Waived, No Recall

  • DL Elijah Garcia

12:08 p.m. -- After originally being listed as doubtful on the final injury report, DL Chauncey Golston (Neck) and WR Darius Slayton (Hamstring) were downgraded to out for tomorrow's game. The Giants announced that Golston, Slayton, LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, LB Swayze Bozeman, C John Michael Schmitz, and OL Coach Carmen Bricillo will not travel with the team to Denver. Asst. OL Coach James Ferentz will replace Bricillo on the sideline tomorrow.

Friday, Oct. 17

2:22 p.m. -- OLB Abdul Carter was added to the final injury report with a hamstring issue. The rookie third overall pick was limited in Friday's practice and listed as questionable. The Giants also ruled out three players for Sunday's game in Denver: LB Swayze Bozeman (ankle), LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (hamstring) and C John Michael Schmitz (concussion). DL Chauncey Golston (neck) and WR Darius Slayton (hamstring) are doubtful.

11:37 a.m. -- OLB Victor Dimukeje had a "couple good days" and "looks ready to go," according to coach Brian Daboll. He has gotten reps with the defense, look team and special teams since they opened his window to return from the physically unable to perform list. They will see where they are with DL Chauncey Golston (neck) in terms of whether or not they will activate Dimukeje, who suffered a pectoral injury over the offseason and spent training camp on the non-football injury list.

In his final press conference of the week, Daboll also discussed how the team is preparing for the altitude in Denver: "We've been out there quite a bit. We have a sports science program, medical department that I've got a lot of trust and faith in. You do everything you possibly can do to make sure you're as ready as you can be for it. But you can't go out and practice unless you go two weeks early and get a lot. [Executive director of player performance] Aaron Wellman is our guy that has done a fantastic job since he's been here. He's talked a little bit about that."

Their Saturday travel will be a similar to the normal time but they "bumped up some of the meetings."

Thursday, Oct. 16

3:37 p.m. -- The following Giants players did not practice on Thursday: LB Swayze Bozeman (ankle), DL D.J. Davidson (knee), LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (hamstring), DL Chauncey Golston (neck), C John Michael Schmitz (concussion), WR Darius Slayton (hamstring). CB Paulson Adebo (shoulder) and S Dane Belton (neck) were added to the injury report as limited participants.

12:25 p.m. -- Assistant head coach/offensive coordinator MIke Kafka said there is "a lot of trust" with WR Lil'Jordan Humphrey, who led the Giants in targets against the Eagles one day after he was activated from the practice squad. "He's had a lot of time on task with [QB Jaxson Dart] throughout the course of training camp and the spring and stuff, even in the preseason, so there was some comfortability there."

12:05 p.m. -- Special teams coordinator Michael Ghobrial said S Dane Belton is playing at a "Pro Bowl level." Belton leads the NFL with 12 special teams tackles. "You see all his study habits, all his hard work this offseason of improving the things that he needed to, show up on game day, and it's infectious," Ghobrial said. "The guy has been playing really, really well for us. I want to make note of the fact that it is elite right now. Playing at that Pro Powl level and that consistency to do it from a game in, game out basis ultimately elevates everybody else. Really fired up for him the success that he's having."

3:19 p.m. -- Giants RB Cam Skattebo and Panthers RB Rico Dowdle were voted the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week, the NFL announced. By winning, FedEx will offer a $2,000 donation in their names to Feeding America for a local food bank.

12:30 p.m. -- Coach Brian Daboll announced they will open the practice window for OLB Victor Dimukeje as the Giants gear up for a Sunday road game against the Broncos. Dimukeje, who played his first four seasons with the Cardinals before signing with the Giants in free agency, suffered a pectoral injury over the offseason and spent training camp on the non-football injury list. He was then placed on the reserve/physically unable to perform list when the 53-man roster was announced.

Daboll said they will see where WR Darius Slayton (hamstring) is today. He may or may not do something. "He's getting better. He might be off to the side."

C John Michael Schmitz is in the concussion protocol. OL Austin Schlottmann will get all his reps today. "He did what he needed to do (vs. Philadelphia) which was come in and operate at center for us and he did a nice job," Daboll said.

Tuesday, Oct. 14

10:10 a.m. -- QB Jaxson Dart and RB Cam Skattebo were both nominated for Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week. This is the fifth consecutive week a Giants rookie has been nominated for the honor. Dart has been up for the award in each of the last three weeks since taking over as the starting quarterback, while Skattebo was also nominated in Weeks 2 and 3.

Monday, Oct. 13

8:54 a.m. -- The Giants signed veteran LB Jonas Griffith and WR Juice Wells Jr. to the practice squad. Griffith has played all 22 of his games (12 starts) with the Broncos, whom the Giants face this Sunday in Denver. He has not played in a regular-season game since Nov. 13, 2022, when he suffered a season-ending ankle injury. Griffith then tore his ACL twice. Wells spent the offseason with the Giants as an undrafted rookie from Ole Miss, where he caught passes from QB Jaxson Dart, but was waived Aug. 26. Wells ranked third in the SEC, seventh nationally, with 19.8 yards per reception in his final collegiate season. He caught four passes for 24 yards in three preseason games.

7:03 a.m. -- RB Cam Skattebo was nominated for the FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week Award. The rookie carried the ball 19 times for 98 yards and three touchdowns in the Giants' Week 6 victory over the Eagles, while adding two receptions for an additional 12 yards. Skattebo became the second rookie running back in franchise history to rush for three touchdowns in a game, joining Charlie Evans, who did it against the San Diego Chargers in 1971. Skattebo is the first rookie running back in the NFL to rush for three scores in a game since Washington's Antonio Gibson did so in 2020.
