Andrew Thomas ACTIVE vs. Cowboys; view inactives

INACTIVES

Leading up to Sunday's matchup, the Giants announced that four players would not play due to injuries against the NFC East-leading Cowboys.

Wide receivers Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton, who each have hamstring injuries, and offensive lineman Ben Bredeson (hand) will all miss their second consecutive game. Safety Jabrill Peppers will miss his first game this season due to hamstring injury suffered in last week's overtime victory in New Orleans.

The only other player on the final injury report was left tackle Andrew Thomas, who was listed as questionable with a foot injury but is active for the game. The second-year pro, who has drawn acclaim for his performance this season, was limited in practice. He was asked about his foot when he spoke to the media Friday.

"Sore, but I'm doing everything the trainers are asking me to do," he said. "Taking care of it, doing a lot of treatment, trying to get it ready."

Thomas added, "Right now, just focusing on everyday doing what the trainers ask me. We'll see how it feels on Sunday, but right now just trying to treat it. … We'll see what happens on Sunday."

Thomas has started 14 consecutive games and 19 of the 20 games since the Giants selected him fourth overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. He has not missed a game in his two seasons with the team.

Matt Peart is listed as the Giants' No. 2 tackle on either side. If Thomas is unable to play, a potential solution would be to move Nate Solder from right to left tackle and have Peart step in on the right side. The Giants also elevated tackle Korey Cunningham from their practice squad.

Cunningham, 6-6 and 311 pounds, was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 7, a week after he was released by the New England Patriots. He entered the NFL as a 2018 seventh-round draft choice by the Arizona Cardinals, from the University of Cincinnati. As a rookie, he started each of Arizona's final six games at left tackle.

Cunningham was traded to the Patriots on Aug. 29, 2019 and played in one game that season and 11 games in 2020 for New England. Cunningham and Wes Martin will be two of the Giants' reserve offensive linemen when they face the Cowboys in AT&T Stadium.
