For the second consecutive week, running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. has been nominated for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week.
This also marks the sixth straight week that a Giant has been nominated for the rookie honor, as Malik Nabers was up for the award following each of the first four games of the season.
With Devin Singletary sidelined again due to a groin injury, Tracy started in the backfield for the Giants in their Sunday night matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. The rookie carried the ball 17 times for 50 yards and his first NFL touchdown, while matching Darius Slayton for the team-lead with six receptions for 57 yards.
"He played well, played well," coach Brian Daboll said. "He played well last week in Seattle and came in and ran tough. Made some plays in the pass game, thought he had a good night."
According to Pro Football Focus, Tracy forced three missed tackles on running plays and another two in the passing game.
Through the first six games of his NFL career, the 24-year-old back has registered 47 rush attempts for 208 yards (4.4 avg.) and a touchdown in addition to 11 receptions for 99 yards. He also has eight total missed tackles forced.
"I thought Tracy ran hard again," Daboll added on Monday. "He was productive in the run game and the pass game for us. Made good decisions. He's coming along."
