HARPER HAULS IN TD FROM ELI
From the red zone on the opening series of 11-on-11 team drills, Eli Manning landed a touchdown into the hands of wide receiver Chris Harper, who broke free down the right sideline. While there may have been some movement on the offensive line before the snap, it was still a great throw-and-catch, and more importantly, there were no referees to whistle the play dead.
The 6-foot-1, 228-pound Harper was a fourth-round draft choice by the Seahawks out of Kansas State in 2013. He also spent time with the 49ers and Packers before joining the Giants. He later had another nice catch from Ryan Nassib during 7-on-7 drills.
RANDLE'S ONE-HANDED GRAB
Odell Beckham Jr. isn't the only Giants wide receiver who can make one-handed catches. Randle made a nifty one today on the first play of team drills at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center.
He and Manning again hooked up later in practice for a sizable gain during 11-on-11s.
ROOKIE COLLINS BREAKS UP PASS
While there were no interceptions for a second straight day, rookie safety Landon Collins and the secondary still had a big impact on Friday.
Collins jumped in front of a Manning pass intended for running back Rashad Jennings during 7-on-7s and swatted it to the ground.
HONORABLE MENTION
CB Prince Amukamara broke up a pass intended for Julian Talley; Manning hit TE Jerome Cunningham on the sideline during 11-on-11s; QB Ryan Nassib hooked up with Harper in 7-on-7s; QB Ricky Stanzi had a nice throw on the run to rookie WR Geremy Davis in 7-on-7s; and Bennett Jackson came closest to an interception on a ball that tipped off TE Matt LaCosse.
