The NFL reacts to Eli's retirement

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning vs. New England Patriots QB Tom Brady Part 1.5: The Forgotten Fourth Quarter

Giants all-time great quarterback Eli Manning announced his retirement in a press conference Friday morning in front of family, friends, former and current teammates, Giants employees and members of the media. Many current and former players from across the league took to social media to congratulate the two-time Super Bowl MVP on an amazing career. Here are a few shoutouts to Eli from around the NFL.

Los Angeles Chargers QB Philip Rivers, who was part of the 2004 draft day trade that sent Eli to the Giants:

"Congratulations, Eli, on an awesome career. I always admired your steadiness and dependability over the 16 years. And of course the two unbelievable Super Bowl runs you led your team on. Congrats on a Hall of Fame career."
