DE OWA ODIGHIZUWA**

One of the first things Giants fans learned about Owa Odighizuwa was his admiration for the lineage of great pass rushers in the franchise's history, notably Osi Umenyiora, who retired Wednesday during a ceremony at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. Owa talked to Osi today and sat in for his farewell speech. He then hit the practice field and did his best impression of his idol.
"He's just really, really quick off the ball," Odighizuwa said of Umenyiora. "He's very smart, very crafty. He's just really, really good with his hands, and he does a lot of those things that I'm working on, and progressing and getting better at every day."
Earlier in the day, coach Tom Coughlin brought up Odighizuwa as a player who can learn a lot from watching Umenyiora as well as other past greats like Michael Strahan and Justin Tuck.
"I don't take those words lightly at all," Odighizuwa said. "Anytime coach [Coughlin] can mention me in that type of conversation, that's definitely an honor. But that's something I work towards every day—being the best that I can be and contributing to the long line of tradition. That's a dream of mine and that's something I'm never going to let go so long as I'm here."
TE DANIEL FELLS
It was a good practice to be a Giants tight end. While teammates Larry Donnell and Jerome Cunningham also notched catches, Daniel Fells led the way on Wednesday.
The veteran tight end made the biggest play of the day with a long reception down the middle from Eli Manning on the final two-minute drive.
The completion allowed Manning to spike the ball and set up a would-be field goal to end the drill.
WR PRESTON PARKER
In a deep competition at the position, wide receiver Preston Parker just keeps competing.
The Giants' third-leading wide receiver from a year ago got it going with Manning on the first-team offense, snagging a handful of passes that included a touchdown in the corner of the end zone.
It came a day after he made an over-the-shoulder grab in the end zone from Manning.
