Q: How much do you think the allegations regarding Penn State hurts the luster of what Joe Paterno has done over his career?
A: I don't think it really does because from what I know, the situation doesn't involve Joe. I don't have all of the information and we'll have to wait and see what happens. But I would like to think that all that he's done for the university itself and for the football program, it's just sad to think that things turned out this way.
Q: It's been alleged that Joe did know about this in 2002.
A: I can't speak to something like that because it's alleged. It's hearsay. We don't know. I don't know so I can't comment on something like that.
Q: Do you think he should be allowed to coach on Saturday against Nebraska?
A: As far as I know, he's done nothing. I don't know.
Q: Have you stayed in touch with Joe all of these years?
A: No, I have not.
Q: Do you feel that his overall record will stand for itself?
A: I hope to think so. Again folks, let's be realistic about the situation. These are allegations that have not been proven yet. We don't know what happened. I don't know what happened. It's has not been played out in a court of law yet so we'll have to wait and see what happens.
Q: Does it sadden you? A: It's sad for the kids overall. This is not a situation where it was a mistake or anything of that nature. We're talking about young children who were allegedly taken advantage of. Anytime you involve kids who are innocent or anything of that nature it's a sad situation for all of us. It's very sorrowful because you would like to go ahead and think that in today's world and today's society that we would like to protect our kids and give them the best chances and opportunities to be successful.Join other diehard Giants Fans!
