Teammates see what Odell Beckham Jr. is capable of in practice every day, but today it was Cincinnati's turn. From the always entertaining 1-on-1 drills to full 11-on-11, Beckham caught the attention of the Bengals' sideline as he made catch after catch on the practice fields outside Paul Brown Stadium.

"I went back and forth between both fields and really didn't just stand there and watch the offense, per se, but I'm sure he got a good workout," coach Tom Coughlin said. "Hopefully, he'll come back tomorrow."

LB JON BEASON

Talking to the media before practice, middle linebacker Jon Beason sounded like he was gearing up for a game. In a way, he was. Not only are the Giants holding their first joint practice in a decade, but Beason also knows that he won't see that many reps in Friday night's preseason opener when starters traditionally play only a series or two. That mindset showed today as Beason, for the first time in his nine NFL seasons, lined up against a different team in practice.

"We're going up against a worthy opponent," Beason said. "Four years in a row, they've been in the playoffs. I think they are number two

in rushing, so it's a great challenge for us up front, we obviously want to stop the run. You just want to get something out of this.

"I don't know that we have anything to prove to ourselves, but I think we need to go into this practice with the mentality that we are a great group. We are physically imposing, we're tough, we're relentless, we know what's going on. Guys are going to be accountable to just doing their job. And just try and give them a great look as well."

OL ERECK FLOWERS

After a brief setback with a hip flexor issue last week, first-round pick Ereck Flowers started the first joint practice with the Cincinnati Bengals at left tackle, where he has been playing since Will Beatty suffered a torn pectoral muscle in the spring. Going against one of the NFL's toughest defensive fronts, Flowers showed he's up for the challenge this week in Cincinnati and beyond.

"I have to watch the film, but he seemed to be good," quarterback Eli Manning said. "We did some cadence stuff, changed some plays,

and he did a good job, I think, understanding what was going on and understanding the looks and what his assignments were. It seemed like he had a good day."

Manning added, "I think you just throw everything at him. We'll look at the film today and if there were mistakes, we'll make the corrections. We'll get on the same page. I have to continue to communicate and look at the film and see how we can do a better job just being quicker, making all of our calls, and getting up there and getting the ball snapped."
