•  The majority of team reps have gone to the top three quarterbacks, but today rookie Davis Webb got a crack at some. McAdoo threw the third-round draft choice into the fire and had him lead the two-minute drill, which stalled, notching another victory for the defense. After practice, the head coach confirmed Webb will get his first taste of live NFL action on Friday night against the Steelers. "He had a few team reps early on in camp, but did a nice job [today]," McAdoo said. "It was a tough situation to come in, two-minute drill there, needed a field goal to tie, a touchdown to win, came up short. But it was a good, productive drill."

•  On the topic of playing time in the first preseason game, McAdoo said he will "treat it very similar to the way we treated last year's game," when Eli Manning did not play. Odell Beckham Jr. was scheduled to take a few snaps, but after the start of the game was delayed an hour by severe weather, McAdoo decided to keep the Pro Bowl receiver on the sideline.

•  No decision has been made on the order of quarterbacks, with Josh Johnson, Geno Smith and Webb vying to be Manning's backup. "We're going to go in, take a look at the tape, and see how it transpires," McAdoo said.

•  Wide receiver Sterling Shepard, who rolled his ankle a week ago, keeps progressing and participated in live reps today. "He looked good moving around out there today, didn't seem to be limited. We're going to take it slow with him, like we talked about earlier, but he likes football, wants to get back on the field. It's important to him."

•  Manning and wide receiver Roger Lewis hooked up for the touchdown of the day. Lewis found a sliver of space in the front corner of the end zone and tapped his toes in bounds before falling out as he made the catch.

•  Chad Wheeler, an undrafted rookie out of USC who mostly has been backing up Ereck Flowers, took some reps on the first team at left tackle today so the coaches could get a good look at him. "You know what, he jumped in there and got beat like a drum on the first play," McAdoo said. "After that, he hung in there nicely."

•  Today, the Giants waived/injured offensive lineman Jessamen Dunker and signed Corin Brooks, an undrafted rookie from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, to take his place.

•  New York Yankees general manager Brain Cashman took in practice from the sideline, as did Giants Ring of Honor inductee Osi Umenyiora, who was at the facility for a "Giants Chronicles" taping.

•  The players will have meetings and a jog-through tomorrow as their final tune-up for the preseason-opener.

•  Players have the day off Saturday after the game and will return to the field on Sunday. Monday's practice will be final training camp practice open to the public.
