Barkley is arguably the finest rookie in the NFL and unquestionably one of the most impactful first-year players in Giants history.
The 6-0, 233-pound Barkley has had the best statistical season by a rookie running back in Giants history. Through 14 games, he was third in the NFL in both rushing yards (1,155) and scrimmage yards (1,809), both franchise records for first-year players. He was the first rookie in team history to rush for more than 1,000 yards.
Barkley blew past the former franchise rookie rushing record of 830 yards which Hall of Famer Tuffy Leemans had held since 1936.
