Safety Will Hill makes play in return

Will Hill returned to the field Sunday in Cincinnati after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Activated on Saturday, the safety made the most of it and recovered a Brandon Tate fumble on a punt return early in the first quarter of the Giants' road loss. Hill was also in on the tackle as he dragged Tate down from behind and Chase Blackburn jarred the bar loose. The Giants took over at the Cincinnati 27 and came away with a field goal, cutting the deficit to 14-3.

"The day didn't end like I wanted it to," Hill said. "But…I got back on the field and showed the team that I'm ready to play. We've got to come back and regroup and get better for two weeks from now."

Hill, who had seven tackles and four special teams tackles in the first five weeks before the suspension, didn't see any time on defense as he continues to get back up to speed.

"I definitely have to get some of the kinks out," Hill said. "But I wouldn't know how rusty I am because I didn't go out there on defense. But on special teams, I did what I needed to do."
