EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - The Giants announced today that they have signed running back D.J. Ware to a contract extension.
Ware is entering his fifth season with the Giants. In 2010, Ware played in 14 games and had a team-high 20.6-yard average on 21 kickoff returns. The 21 runbacks tied Darius Reynaud for the Giants' lead. Ware finished third on the team with 73 rushing yards on a career-high 30 attempts. He also had seven receptions for 67 yards.
Ware has been with the Giants since Dec. 4, 2007, when he was signed off the Jets' practice squad. He played in one game that season, six in 2008 and eight in 2009 before seeing his most extensive action last season.* *
