With that in mind, Giants.com begins a series of asking players to let us in on the top three differences of the new system through the eyes of their positions. Today we start with quarterback Curtis Painter, who enters his second season with Big Blue.
Key changes according to QB Curtis Painter
1. Nucleus
Painter: The first thing you notice is you always have a new nucleus of players. So we've got some new weapons that I think everyone is excited about. In saying that also, you have some new faces as far as the coaches are concerned. I think we're all excited about those changes and just getting to know each other.
2. Tempo
Painter: I think that maybe the threat of being able to run some plays quick and get a lot done -- which we tried to do a little bit last year but we just didn't hang our hat on it -- that's going to be a little different.
3. Terminology
Painter: The biggest thing is you see a lot of different terminology. Terminology is always different, obviously. There's really only so many concepts that you can really do, so it's just a matter of trying to change over some of the wordage, maybe associate one thing that you're used to with something new. So I think that's the biggest change. And just kind of the personnel and the coaches, that's going to be the biggest adjustment, I think.
