QB Jim Sorgi

Q: Are you now thinking that maybe your shoulder injury is a long term thing, or longer than you thought?
A: I don't want to speculate on how long it's going to be. I'm trying to take it one day at a time, and I'm happy the team has been this patient with me. Hopefully, they can be a little bit more patient and wait until I get better.

Q: Are you telling them that at all?
A: No, there hasn't been much talk about it. I don't know if their patience is wearing thin, but I'm sure it is. It's just a numbers game and getting to be that point. Like I said, it's a tough position for me to be in, and a tough position for them to be in. I don't really have much else to say.

Q: Are you definitely out this rest of this week or are you still hoping?
A: There is always hope. I saw the doctors yesterday, and as of yesterday it wasn't looking good. Hopefully, the next time I see the doctor, he'll have a different story and I'll have something better to show him.

Q: Any thought on the following week?
A: There is no following week. It all depends on what the team wants to do, and I don't really have much going on and much to say. It's out of my hands.

Q: When do you go back to the doctors?
A: I don't know when the next time I'm going to see the doctor. Probably in the next few days, I'd imagine.

Q: Any improvement?
A: A little. Very slow. I have never had it so I don't know how it's supposed to feel or how quickly it's supposed to get better. I know it's different in a quarterback, a thrower, than it is in other positions. We're trying to keep that in mind and it's just the timing of when it happened and the timing of when it's supposed to get better by is bad timing for both sides.

Q: As far as treatment, is it typical ice, anti-inflamatories, etc.?
A: Yes. You don't want to do too much over the head because you don't want to aggravate it more and more and more, and then they keep pushing it a week, a week, a week. We really haven't been doing too much, we're just waiting for it to calm down.

Q: Chad Pennington had this same injury and was done for the year in September. What makes yours different?
A: I don't know exactly what his was. I don't know if his came out or what not. I don't think mine tore enough to dislocate the shoulder or it come out of the socket at all. I know you need time for it to get down and the scar tissue to heal and stuff like that. I'm assuming that if it doesn't get better over however much time, four or six weeks, then I'll have to get it taken care of.

Q: You probably won't be able to practice this week then:
A: Probably not. Today I will not.
