Postgame Quotes: Coach Brian Daboll, QB Tommy DeVito, RB Saquon Barkley, OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux, K Randy Bullock, WR Wan'Dale Robinson

Head Coach Brian Daboll

Q: What can you say about (quarterback) Tommy (DeVito) and that situation right there to lead you down the field?

A: It's his job. Third game of over a hundred quarterback rating. He made good decisions, took care of the ball, used him in the run game. Just keep developing him. He's improving. Still got stuff to work on, but like I said two or three times last week, I think he's a young player that's doing the right things and making the most of his opportunity. He earned the right to play today, and he earned the right to play the next week. The kid's done a good job.

Q: Was that sort of an adjustment you made at halftime? It seems like he came out –

A: With the quarterback stuff? That's something that I give (Offensive Coordinator Mike) Kafka and (Offensive Line Coach) Bobby Johnson a lot of credit of the discussion kind of right even before half, leading into it. We hit that one big one where he kind of ran into (wide receiver) Wan'Dale (Robinson). There was a lot of good discussion on the sideline, in the headset, and at halftime spearheaded by Kafka and Bobby.

Q: You have the game possibly sealed with (running back) Saquon (Barkley) on the long run. I mean, it's right on your sideline. It's just such a crazy play.

A: Pro football. Things happen. We had to go and make it tough on ourselves, drive down in two-minute (drill) with a rookie quarterback who made good decisions and nail a field goal with a new kicker. Probably like to do it the other way.

Q: What was the conversation like with Tommy on the last drive trying to keep his composure?

A: You don't have to worry about that. He keeps his composure. There was really nothing. Here's a couple plays we like and go out there and rip that (expletive). Pretty simple.

Q: This team looks like, not Tommy going down the field, but his teammates look like they have a lot of confidence in him. They seem composed, not just Tommy.

A: Yeah, they do. I'd say really all three phases. The defensive guys do, but again, he's earned that, and he knows we've got plenty to work on. He's only started four games, but they do. They see him at practice. He has good practices. He's not afraid to turn it loose. I mean, that flea-flicker we ran, what a play by Wan'Dale. I know I was getting asked about Wan'Dale last week; I think he played pretty good, too. Had a lot of confidence in him. It was one of those where he came off to me after we scored the touchdown. He goes, 'I know I short-armed it a little bit, I saw him wide open.' He goes, 'I'll make good decisions.' I said, 'I know you will, man.' But he does a good job of seeing it.

Again, tough game against a team, they don't give up a lot of points usually. We did enough. There's still a lot of things we could do better. We had some short fields that we could have capitalized on. We obviously turned it over there at the end, which Saquon feels terrible about, and I feel for him. It was

kind of a fluke deal where he let it go. It's a 60-minute game. We knew it would be. They've been a successful team in December. So, I'm proud of our guys.

Q: What do you make of being one game out of the final playoff spot?

A: We're going to focus on New Orleans. We've got a short week, so the guys are going to get in early. We're going to just focus on this week like we always do. It'll be a tough environment down there. They just played a good game. We'll enjoy this one here for a couple hours and get to work here early short a day on preparation.

Q: Tommy wasn't sacked tonight. How much of an emphasis was it for him to use his legs if he felt pressure or how did he avoid the sacks better tonight?

A: That's always an emphasis. That's just feeling the pocket. It's something we evaluated and looked at. Again, sacks are — I think I've been asked this last week, too – a result of a lot of things. We could be better upfront, could be better at quarterback, could be better at getting separation, could be better at blocking protection. I think he's worked really hard in trusting his feet and taking off when he needs to take off or trying to find an outlet if he can find an outlet. I thought our scramble rules helped us. We worked hard on those this week. I know you asked a question about doing things a little bit differently and scramble drill was one of them. We hit (wide receiver) Isaiah (Hodgins) in the back, Wan'Dale makes a great catch on the sideline. So, some of the stuff you work on, it's good to see come to fruition in a game.

Q: Is a fourth-quarter comeback a notch that a quarterback gets under his belt? That's not easy to do.

A: I would just say it's a team game. Everybody's responsible. Again, it was a tough opponent. We knew they were going to be a good football team, a tough out, a 60-minute game. That's what most of their games have been. Then to have that swing of events and to be able to stay focused and locked in...

Kafka called a great game. He did a great job in the two-minute (drill). It was very similar to our two-minute situation we had in practice. He was really focused and dialed in. He gave him good plays. Tommy executed the plays, he knew them. Wan'Dale made the biggest play and made a great route, he created great separation on a bow route there. Then (kicker) Randy (Bullock) made the kick, field goal protection. Again, it was a good win, but it's a short week. Got a lot of work to do leading up to New Orleans.

Q: What was the plan with (defensive lineman) Dex(ter Lawrence II) tonight? He was obviously on a—

A: Pitch count. Yeah.

Q: On that wildcat run to Wan'Dale, Saquon, was that part of the play call for him to fake that he had fumbled the handoff? Did you see him do that?

A: No. No.

Q: He improved that?

A: No, it was just the ball handling probably could have been a little bit better.

Yeah, no, the ball handling, that was like crap when I saw it. But then he held onto it and he skirted out there. Then we ran it again later in the game, and they did a good job of playing it. They kind of squeezed and moved around and Saquon just tried to save the play. But that was a big play, and it was a good call by Mike.

Q: Speaking of improv, it looked like Isaiah rolled to his right with Tommy at the same time.

A: Yeah, scramble. Yeah, scramble rules. Look, we did two periods against our defense this week where it was two five-play periods, three of them were just drop back, call the play, but I told DeVito under no circumstances throw it on time. Make sure you scramble. We've got to do a good job of it; our defense has to do a good job against (Packers quarterback Jordan) Love when he does it. So, it's something we practiced, I'd say put a high emphasis on this week. It was two good plays that we made out of it. Guys did a good job of taking things to practice to taking it to the field.

Q: What does it say about your team that you were 2-8, you won three in a row with your backup quarterback, that you're in the playoff hunt despite starting that way this season?

A: All we try to do is do our best each week. Prepare as hard as we can to go out there and play as good as we can on game day. Our coaches do it. Our players do it. It's a close-knit group, I'd say, both coaches and players. Tough league, again, we've talked about it I don't know how many times last year, this year. It's a league of adversity. So, you've got to be able to weather storms with a positive mindset, with good solutions, with great focus, intensity, passion, competitiveness, all the things that you need to try to be a competitive team. That's all we focus on. Certainly, results are not always what you want, but you believe in your process, and you go out there and try to keep improving.

Q: You brought the playoffs up this week to your players. Did you bring it up to them in there in the postgame locker room?

A: What I say to the players will stay in-house. We'll get ready to play New Orleans.

Q: Do you appreciate the uniqueness of what Tommy's doing? Because we see first-round picks, second-round picks who can't do this. We see big free-agent signings who can't do this.

A: Yeah, I don't really worry about free agents, where they're picked, when they're picked. That doesn't matter to me. We have a philosophy of how we teach our quarterbacks. He's bought in, he's worked really hard. Look, he's four games in, too, so I know he's had three pretty good games, good decisions. He'll be the first to say that he's got a lot to work on. I appreciate how he handles himself. I appreciate how he is during the week. I appreciate when guys are leaving, he's in the meeting rooms and meeting with (Quarterbacks Coach) Shea (Tierney) and Kafka for quite some time. The way he's handling it, I know it's probably not easy for him being that he's from around here. I kind of know how that goes. So, there's a lot on your plate that's going on, and you've got to keep the main thing the main thing, which is football. Again, we've had four games with him. I'm proud of him. He's put a lot of work in really since he's got here, since the first day he was working out in the local pro day. He spent a lot of time in meeting rooms, he's earning what he's getting. But again, we've got a long way to go. I know first round, free agents…

We have a way we teach our quarterbacks. We believe in it. We try to put them in the best position, but they ultimately have to go out there and do it and do it at a high level. I'm not worried about 300-yard passing games or this or that. His objective is to take care of the ball and lead the team down to score points, regardless of the quarter, and play your best when it counts the most. The only way you do that is through your preparation, your hard work, and again, I think Shea and Kafka do a really good job of developing quarterbacks. So, time will tell. We'll have a tough one this week against a really good defense.

Quarterback Tommy DeVito

Q: What were your emotions, what were you thinking when you got the ball back after the (running back) Saquon (Barkley) fumble at your 25-yard line? What was going through your head?

A: Just go win the football game. Go execute a drive that we practice every day before practice, which is a two-minute drive. We do it every day, different situations. With all the practice, we have that exact situation or something very similar to it, so just go out, execute the offense and go win the game.

Q: How much do you like being in that situation?

A: I mean you enjoy it when it's an outcome like this, right? I mean, I enjoy being on the field any play, no matter what play it is, so just try to enjoy it.

Q: Did you say anything to your teammates in the huddle before that drive?

A: Let's go win the game. It's on us, on the offense.

Q: Did you know you were going to have a big role this week with your legs? I mean, was that something more at halftime, that they kind of talked about?

A: Yeah, I mean it's always in every game plan, every week. Just how much we utilize it depends on what the defense is doing, and it just so happen to come up in the second half.

Q: (Wide receiver) Isaiah (Hodgins) said he was impressed the way you stuck your foot in the ground on that long run and got to the one-yard line. Did you like that play a lot?

A: I did, yeah. It's something I'm comfortable with, I've done it a lot in high school, I've done it in college, so it's something I've kind of done for a little while now.

Q: Did you hear the fireworks go off for a non-touchdown?

A: I'm not going to lie, that was the first time. I was like, I was on the verge of celebrating, on the verge of not, I was like 'mmm' it wasn't a touchdown, but we got Say (Saquon Barkley) in.

Q: The guy who launched the fireworks thought it was a touchdown.

A: Hey, I appreciate him for that. I appreciate the belief.

Q: What about the touchdown pass to Isaiah in the back corner? What did you see on that play? How did that develop?

A: Yeah, so they played a good defense to it, just a scramble drill. Something that we've emphasized a lot honestly this week in practice especially. And he made a great play, great catch, touchdown, that's it.

Q: What did you say to him, or Saquon say to you after the fumble?

A: That he's all good. Always. Like, I believe in him. Same thing happens if I turn the ball over, he's the first one to come up to me, so it's something when that situation happened the way it did, I was the first one to go up to him and told him, 'we're good, flush it, we are going to go win the game.'

Q: That's kind of a reversal of roles though for basically the face of the franchise and still a rookie quarterback.

A: Yeah, we have a high level of respect for each other, so we don't think about anything like that, but that's how it is.

Q: What does it say about this team that you were 2-8 three weeks ago and you're in the playoff hunt now?

A: Just continuing to fight. I think in every game we've played this year that we've showed that we never gave up on any snap no matter what the score was. Never looked up at the scoreboard, just kept on fighting each and every play, each and every game and it's starting to come to fruition with some of these games in the past now and just going to keep trying to go 1-0 each week.

Q: You probably already answered this, what did you think of your defense tonight?

A: They're unreal. Offensively, we could've helped them out more, getting some points with better field position with the turnovers that they were giving us. That's something we've got to clean up, but they've done a tremendous job being able to get us the ball back, get stops how they did and hold an offense and a team like that to that many points.

Q: How much was your success running? Was that something that was preplanned or something that just sort of unfolded during the game?

A: It was something that unfolded during the game. It's kind of in every game plan that we have week in and week out and it kind of depends on what the defense is playing and just so happened to come up in the second half.

Q: What did you see from the defense that made you think that –

A: The D-ends were just trying to go tackle Say in the backfield, so like, alright, well let's read them now. So, I'm going to do that, and I pulled it, and I'm on the edge.

Q: When Saquon fumbled, was there a 'oh no' moment, or what was the reaction?

A: I mean, at first, I didn't really know what happened. The reaction was, oh this dude is running with the ball, they didn't blow the whistle, we got to get him down. So, that was the first thing and then after, I mean, stuff happens in games. On to the next play. Whether it's been me in the past throwing an interception, he's the first one there to tell me next play, I believe in you, so I was right there doing the same thing with him.

Q: You said the same thing to him, next play?

A: Yeah.

Q: Were you seeing the rush lanes well? It seemed like every time there was pressure you were escaping and scrambling very well, avoiding those sacks.

A: Yeah, the o-line did a really good job. I mean, that's all it really was. They did a great job. Lanes opened up, and I took advantage of them when they were there, but testament to those guys holding that d-line tonight.

Q: I know it's been a focus of you avoiding sacks, avoiding the negative plays, do you think you did a better job of that today? Obviously, no sacks.

A: I was going to say, yeah, I'd say it went pretty well today with no sacks, right? I wish we could do that every week and we strive to do that every week, but I know that's not the reality always, but yeah just trying together better on some little things each and every week, try to clean up things during the week in practice, watching film and I look forward to seeing what this game has for me to work on.

Q: Does a quarterback, especially a guy like you who is a rookie, does a fourth quarter comeback late, you need things on your resume, things that you do. First win, first snap, first this, does first fourth quarter comeback mean something to you?

A: I guess. It's just something, I don't know. Not really to me honestly, it's just football, try to go score every drive, but especially in that situation. Like I said before, it's something that we practice day in and day out, so to be able to execute that in game, it was positive.

Q: What was your reaction right after the field goal?

A: Oh, I was standing next to Dabs (head coach Brian Daboll). I don't know if he wants me saying this, but at first, he wasn't going to look. And then he was like, I'm going to look, and I was like alright. So, we stood right next to each other, and it was just, as soon as we saw it go in, just pure excitement. I grabbed him, hugged him, told him I loved him, and celebrated with my teammates.

Q: He came to you in the locker room and had a few words for you, what did he tell you then?

A: Just to continue to stay the course, continue to try to get better each and every day, same stuff he tells me week in and week out, even when I was on practice squad, through OTAs and camp. Just telling me, just to keep trying to strive each and every day, pick something new out to get better at and that's how you're going to make it.

Q: How much different did it feel entering the huddle there? On that last final drive.

A: Not crazy. Just knew it was on us and the offense, you know a lot of times in these past couple weeks and these past couple games, a lot of it has been on the defense to end the game and this time it was the offense's turn. And it was the same, like I said the same routine we do in practice.

Q: What did you see on that throw to (wide receiver) Wan'Dale (Robinson) for a big 32 yards there?

A: Yeah, we had the same play call earlier in the first quarter, I missed him on it. A little bit of a different defense, but similar kind of play call. But they played man, Wan'Dale one-on-one, I like that matchup a lot. He ran a great route, offensive line gave me a perfect pocket, gave him a chance, he made a play.

Q: You've always said that you felt like you belonged here in this league, to do this three weeks in a row and the way you've done it as a starter, do you have any moments where you take a step back and truly appreciate what you are accomplishing now individually?

A: I think I will probably later on. When I get home after this, I'll go see my family, everybody else, like when all that kind of dies down and I'm just kind of alone and with my parents and my brother, that's when I kind of reflect on everything.

Q: Is that also part of your confidence, you don't allow that to take center stage?

A: Yeah, of course. I think as a quarterback you have to stay even keel through it all. You know, because when you are winning like we are right now, everything is high and when you are losing, everything is low. So, as a quarterback you have to be able to stay even through it all. So, I take pride in that, it's something that I've grown over, obviously over time, from when I was playing from when I was five. Throughout high school and college, just continuing to grow that part of my game.

Q: Did you happen to see that clip at all, I think it was after your touchdown pass, of Sean, your dad and your brother?

A: I did not.

Q: They were celebrating, they gave each other kisses on the cheek.

A: Oh God. I'll have to go find that one after this. I'm sure it was pure comedy.

Q: They are going to be famous now.

A: It's good for business.

Q: When you look at the standings, I don't know if you have or haven't, you guys are one game out of a playoff spot. Is that something that strikes a chord in this team?

A: It does. I mean Say said it the other day, I mean everything we want is in front of us, but at the end of the day it's 1-0 each week. Obviously that sounds like a very coach's thing to say, like 1-0, only focus on the week, but that's truly what it is because if you look too far ahead, you'll get got and we're just continuing day in and day out staying through this process.

Running Back Saquon Barkley

Q: Did you want to have an opportunity to get the ball back after fumbling?

A: "Yeah, definitely hoping to get an opportunity. Teammates had my back, (New York Giants QB) Tommy DeVito, Dale (New York Giants WR Wan'Dale Robinson), everyone caught a pass on that drive. Kaf (New York Giants Offensive Coordinator Mike Kafka) did a great job calling plays on that drive and that's the NFL. Got to win games like that and I wish I didn't put my team in that position but could be worse. We found a way to get a win. I've just got to be better."

Q: What happened on that play? Obviously, you were tripped up but kept going--?

A: "To be honest, I was running, I knew where the sideline was and was trying to make sure I didn't go out of bounds in that situation and tried to fall down, and the ball just popped out on me, which is inexcusable. Got to be better. I can't put my team in that situation."

Q: Can you describe the range of emotions between the time that ball got free, and the time the winning field goal goes through the uprights?

A: "Yeah, definitely a lot of praying going on. Didn't even watch the field goal. (New York Giants RB Eric) Gray told me to keep my head down, he's going to watch it for me but had the faith that we would make it. You don't want to, I don't know, the player that I know I am, and I want to be, I can't let that happen. But also, that happens to great players in the league, and I want to be a great player in this league. So, it's about how you respond, and I've got to respond, got to get back to the drawing board, get better, come out like fire and that's it."

Q: Does New York Giants K Randy Bullock get a steak dinner?

A: Whatever he wants man, whatever he wants. Tell him to hit me up, whatever he needs. We can go to Carbone, whatever he wants, any restaurant in New York he wants, let me know.

Q: What did Tommy show you on that last drive there, 4-for-4, did lead you guys down 93-seconds?

A: Great! I think the biggest thing in that situation is just stay calm, don't force anything, two of those throws were check downs, one was a big throw to Wan'Dale. I forgot the other one. I think three of those were just reading the defense, taking what they give you, snap it and keep going. That's rare for a rookie quarterback, but with the confidence and swagger he plays with, you could feel it through the stadium, you could feel it on the sideline, and happy we were able to get the win today.

Q: You said this week in the locker room you guys are still in this--?

A: In what?

Q: In--?

A: This--?

Q: I can't, I can't do that. How much does that get reinforced by a win like this against a perhaps playoff team?

A: You acknowledge it, understanding that that's still here but still got a lot to do. So, you can't get too focused on that. I think coach (New York Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll) said it best, keep the main thing the main thing and that's what we've got to continue to do. Watch film, get better from this and get ready for our opponent. Going into a tough environment next week against the (New Orleans) Saints and got to try to find a way to get another win.

Q: What did you think of your defense tonight in the time that you saw?

A: Our defense is amazing. Our defense don't get enough credit. All those guys every week go out there and ball out, play lights out.

Q: New York Giants OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux and New York Giants DL Dexter Lawrence II looked dominant tonight.

A: Yeah, they're monsters. (New York Giants OLB) Azeez (Ojulari) got back in flow getting him a sack too. Make big plays, they've been making big plays all year long and I think as an offense, we're starting to find our stride a little bit more. So, on the back stretch of this thing, hopefully we continue to do that.

Q: Happy Isaiah Hodgins got a touchdown again?

A: Yeah, yeah, Isaiah's my guy. Big catch, strong hands, we call him 'big man' for a reason. He always finds a way to make a big play for us.

Q: Can you take us through the ups and downs, the emotions of this game, especially the last five minutes?

A: Yeah, for sure. I mean, the emotions were definitely high, and the vibes were great. I wouldn't really say the emotions were low at all after I fumbled. It was more myself, getting in my head, but still at the same time, knowing that an NFL football game and if our defense doesn't get the stop, we've still got to find a way to win the game. So, that happened quick. My teammates came up to me and told me that they've got my back, and we're going to find a way to win this game, and we did that.

Q: What did you see from Tommy DeVito in the huddle on that final possession?

A: Calm, poised, cool, collected, taking what the defense gives him. I think Kaf called a great two-minute drive too and we found a way to get the win

Outside Linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux

On being in the playoffs running.

A: I don't know how the statistics and stuff work, but I think we are. I hope we are.

Q: One game out.

A: One game out. Gotta keep going then.

Q: What did you make overall defensively what you guys did tonight? You were put in some pretty tough spots.

A: We just keep working, man. It's a true testament to our DNA, knowing that you can put us anywhere on the field and we're going to get the job done.

Q: From a personal standpoint, why do you think you're having more success this year statistically than last year.

A: Because I've been putting the work in. Sometimes it's either two things—it's not your time yet or you're not putting enough work in. For me, it's my time and I'm grateful for it.

Q: What was the defense's mentality when (Giants RB) Saquon (Barkley) fumbled?

A: To be honest, we didn't even talk about it. We didn't even sit back and dwell on it. Once it happened and they said that, if you know the rules, he can get back up in that situation. So, it was a surprise to us, but we didn't stop working.

Q: What did you make of (Giants Defensive Coordinator) Wink (Martindale)'s plan going in? I mean they came in pretty, three in a row, (Packers QB Jordan) Love was playing well.

A: If this was Madden, I would play Madden just how Wink called the game. His play call, his execution, I trust it to the fullest and I'm always happy with it.

Q: (Giants QB) "Tommy" DeVito – did anybody see this coming? Did you see this coming? Do you think even he saw this coming?

A: Football, it's any given Sunday. So, you put any guy that's capable in the position to play and that's going to be on them to step into that moment and he's been stepping into the moment tremendously. I'm happy for him, I'm happy for his family and I just hope he continues to stay on this hot streak.

Q: Can you describe the strip there, the fumble on (Packers QB Jordan) Love? What did you see there? You knew it was a fumble all the way, didn't you?

A: Yeah, I knew it was a fumble. He goes down in front of me, but as you can see a lot of times quarterbacks fall on people's bodies so when I saw the ball, I just went to rip it and it came out. That's all she wrote.

Q: Now you've won three in a row, is there that belief in the locker room that a playoff win is possible?

A: We believe it. As long as we continue to believe, anything is possible, so that's what we're going to do.

Kicker Randy Bullock

Q: Let's talk about that first one [first field-goal attempt] that was from 48 yards; how much was the wind a factor and did it change and swirl during the course of the game that the conditions were different from the first quarter to the fourth?

A: Yes, I think it [the wind] died down a little bit. Honestly, I kind of started it at the upright and the ball didn't really move, so that was kind of what was different from what we had experienced in pre-game. I misjudged that first one [first field goal attempt] and that was frustrating, so I was just really excited for the opportunity to redeem myself.

Q: From the time that they [the Green Bay Packers] get the go-ahead point and now Tommy DeVito goes out there and has to take them down the field, what're you thinking about in your mind? Are you visualizing the kick? Or are you just warming up your leg? How do you deal with things as they are trying to drive down the field for you?

A: As they [the Packers offense] were wrapping up the two-point conversion play, that was when I was starting to warm up and start my routine to kind of mentally prepare myself for an opportunity.

Q: What is the final preparation as you try to kick a game-winning field goal? You have done this for a long time in your career, and you have had many of them. What is the final preparation as you actually go out there from the sideline?

A: Just trust in your process; that is the biggest thing. You can't overthink the moment and go out and bang it through and get a win for the team.

Q: Did you feel it right away? You knew that it was good?

A: I felt like I hit it really solid. I was excited for the opportunity to redeem myself and more than anything, help these guys get a win.

Q: Randy, when you join a team midseason like that, and you are not part of it from the whole way, does a moment like that make you feel like 'Ok, now I'm really part of this thing and I got it rolling now'?

A: Yeah, it's been a fun ride for me. It's been kind of crazy the last few weeks just getting here and kind of getting thrown into the fire, but I will say this organization, the coaches, the players in the locker room, everybody has really embraced me and helped me along the way to acclimate and I have felt a part of it since I got here.

Wide Receiver Wan'Dale Robinson

Q: Did you say it was a year ago today?

A: A year ago today I was actually flying out to LA to go have my ACL surgery, so it's actually a good coincidence, but just shows how much you've got to put in and how much work you've got to put in to get back to where you want to be.

Q: What can you say about (Giants QB) Tommy (DeVito) on the last drive?

A: Composed, relentless, I mean everything that you want out of your quarterback. We go through those situations every single day, having a two-minute situation at the end of the game and it just goes to show how much work he puts in to make sure that we're going out there and getting the W.

Q: Take us through the last catch, your catch of that drive, the thirty-two yarder. How did you get open, were you thinking out of bounds? Walk us through the thought process.

A: Well really, I'm trying to figure out where our line is for the most part for the field goal, but once we called the play, I knew that it was kind of a play that would have me isolated one-on-one as long as they were in man coverage. They were in man coverage, so I was going on an over route, the DB bit over on it and broke back out to the sideline and wide-open DeVito gave me a great ball, was able to go up the sideline for a couple more yards.

Q: There are times that watching you in the locker room being across from Tommy, it's almost like I've seen you kind of laugh and get a kick out of his personality, but how do you compare that to the guy who's in the huddle on that last drive?

A: He's all laugh and joking whatever in the locker room, but whenever we get out there on the field it's like he's a stone-cold killer. I feel like that's what you want out of your quarterback. I mean he's laser focus and just letting everybody know this was going to be ours.

Q: Does it surprise you for a guy who's been a draft pick and as successful as you were in college to see a guy in his status as an undrafted guy coming out and doing things that he's doing?

A: I mean I wouldn't say surprised. At the end of the day, we're all in the NFL and you've got to go out there and do your job, so I think he's just taking advantage of every opportunity that he has and he's doing the most with it.

Q: I'm going to say the p word—playoffs. Do you toss that around? Are you guys like we're only a game out?

A: We're going one game at a time right now. We'll worry about that whenever that time comes and right now it's just one win at a time and everything will take care of itself.

Q: But does every game now feel like a playoff game? I think (Giants RB) Saquon (Barkley) said you pretty much have to win every game.

A: At the end of the day, we want to win every game. I don't want to put anything on everybody, but yeah, I mean at the end of the day we've got to go in each week and work and make sure that we're coming out with a victory.
