Odell Beckham Jr. is proving he's more than just "The Catch."
The Giants' first-round draft choice has been named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for November as he led the league with 118.6 receiving yards per game and became the first rookie with at least 90 receiving yards in five games in a single month.
That period, of course, included one of the best catches you'll ever see against Dallas in Week 12, a game in which Beckham posted a season-high 10 catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Overall, Beckham recorded 38 catches for 593 yards in November, propelling his rookie totals to 48 receptions for 699 yards and five touchdowns with four games left in the season.
After missing the first four games of 2014 with a hamstring issue, Beckham is closing in on tight end Jeremy Shockey's franchise records of most receptions (74) and receiving yards (894) in a single season by a rookie. Shockey did so in 2002 after the Giants drafted him in the first round with the 14th overall pick.
Meanwhile, Beckham, the 12th overall selection, became the second Giants wide receiver to win Offensive Rookie of the Month honors. The other was Hakeem Nicks, the 29th overall pick, in October of 2009 when he notched 14 receptions for 297 yards and four touchdowns.
