On Friday, the Giants declared kicker Greg Joseph out of the rematch against the Commanders on Sunday with an abdominal injury. The news was revealed in the post-practice injury report, and Joseph was later placed on injured reserve.

Graham Gano, who hurt his hamstring attempting to make a tackle on the opening kickoff of the Giants' 21-18 road loss to the Commanders on Sept. 15, remains on injured reserve. Punter Jamie Gillan is also out with a hamstring injury.

On Saturday, the Giants activated kicker Jude McAtamney from the practice squad and is set to make his NFL. He made both of his preseason field goal attempts (from 43 and 23 yards), as well as an extra point.

A native of Derry, Ireland, and former Gaelic football player, McAtamney spent the 2021 season at Chowan University in North Carolina and the 2022-23 seasons at Rutgers.

In 2023, he set a school record with 40 touchbacks on 60 kickoffs. He missed his only field goal attempt, a 53-yard try vs. Michigan State.

The previous season, McAtamney played in all 12 games and made 12 of 18 field goal attempts, including five of at least 40 yards, with a long of 49 twice. He also succeeded on 23 of 24 extra point tries, led the Scarlet Knights with 59 points scored and had 17 touchbacks on 47 kickoffs.

Since joining the team in Week 3 after Gano was hurt in Washington, Joseph has made 13 of 16 field goal attempts and six PATs for 45 points.

The Giants did receive some positive injury news: rookie Tyrone Tracy, their leading rusher, was cleared by an independent neurological consultant and was removed from the NFL concussion protocol. He was a full participant in Friday's practice.

Tracy has rushed for 376 yards and two touchdowns on 73 carries. Last Monday night in Pittsburgh, Tracy rushed for a season-high 145 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown that is the Giants' longest offensive play of the season.

The Giants also signed outside linebacker Tomon Fox to the active roster and brought back tight end/fullback Jakob Johnson to the practice squad.
