With that in mind, each week Giants.com takes a look at the latest news and happenings around the NFC East:

DALLAS COWBOYS (1-0, 1-0 NFC East) *

Week 1: W, 27-26 vs. NY Giants* *Next: at Philadelphia (0-1)

*In the Cowboys' last-minute win over the Giants, All-Pro wide receiver Dez Bryant left with a broken bone in his right foot, which required surgery. On Monday, Dallas coach Jason Garrett confirmed the injury will keep him out at least four to six weeks. Bryant had five receptions for 48 yards against the Giants, who will see the Cowboys again in Week 7 at home. 

Also on the injury front, rookie defensive end Randy Gregory will be out at least four weeks with an ankle injury. 

"He was actually pretty productive," Garrett said of Gregory, the team's second-round draft pick out of Nebraska. "I think he played 18 snaps in the game and had a number of factors in the game. [He] disrupted in the run game and also rushing the quarterback. He was around the quarterback a lot. He did a good job of affecting him, and I thought he had a really positive impact on the game."

NEW YORK GIANTS (0-1, 0-1 NFC East)

Week 1: L, 27-26 at Dallas Next: vs. Atlanta (1-0)

A mechanical issue with the team plane caused the Giants' trip back from Dallas to be even longer in the wake of the season-opening loss. Nevertheless, coach Tom Coughlin rallied the team on Monday for a review of the game. Hall of Famer Michael Strahan also visited the Quest Diagnostics Training Center for a morale boost.  "Strahan was in the building and he talked to us and that helped a lot," defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins said. "It's things like when we just have to rally together, stay behind each other, and get through this together." **[

Rookie left tackle Ereck Flowers, the ninth overall draft choice, suffered an ankle injury in his NFL debut, but played through the pain. "He was limited to a certain extent because of the injury, but I thought he battled away, and that's what we always counted on—that he would battle," Coughlin said. "And he did. "They're doing the usual number of MRI's etc. etc. I don't have any information in front of me about that. He did injure the ankle early on and he gutted it out and finished the game. But today is a different day."

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (0-1, 0-0 NFC East) *

Week 1: L, 26-24 at Atlanta (Mon. night)* Next: vs. Dallas (1-0)

While Philadelphia scored 21 of its 24 points in the second half, quarterback Sam Bradford went 36 of 52 for 336 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions in his Eagles debut. Meanwhile, running back DeMarco Murray, who won the NFL rushing title last year by almost 500 yards with the Cowboys, rushed eight times for just nine yards, eight of which came on a single run. However, he still found the end zone twice, one on the ground and one through the air. 

On the other side of the ball, linebacker Kiko Alonso and cornerback-turned-safety Walter Thurmond III each grabbed an interception in their first game as Eagles.  WASHINGTON REDSKINS (0-1, 0-0 NFC East)

Week 1: L, 17-10 vs. Miami* Next: vs. St. Louis (1-0)

Miami wide receiver Jarvis Landry returned a punt 69 yards for a touchdown with 10:22 remaining in the game, proving to be the difference in the victory over Washington.  Washington lost a starter on each side of the ball with injuries to wide receiver DeSean Jackson (hamstring) and safety Duke Ihenacho (wrist). Coach Jay Gruden said Jackson could be out three to four weeks, "but you never know with hamstrings."

Meanwhile, Gruden did not have a solid timetable yet for Ihenacho, who suffered a fracture and dislocation of the wrist.
