Morning Debate: Who should start at MLB?

The Giants flipped middle linebackers in their second preseason game against the Colts, giving Dan Connor the opportunity to operate with the ones. In the role previously held by Mark Herzlich throughout training camp, Connor recorded three tackles as a starter in the 20-12 loss before Herzlich relieved him in the second half.

Moving forward, the job is still up for grabs as the Giants square off against the Jets in the third week of the preseason when starters traditionally play the longest. Head coach Tom Coughlin, with a day to review the tape, updated the position battle:

"They'll both play," Coughlin said Monday on a conference call with the media. "They'll both play a lot.  I don't know the order that we will decide on this week yet.  We'll see how the first part of the week in practice goes."
