The 2019 NFL Scouting Combine has officially ended.
More than 300 prospects interviewed for a spot on one of the 32 teams, and now it's just a matter of general managers sorting through all the information and finding the right fits. There is still a long way to go to the 2019 NFL Draft, which will be held April 25-27 in Nashville. Between then and now, teams will dispatch across the country for pro days, and prospects will also come to them for official visits and interviews. All the while, free agency looms with a March 13 start date.
Here are the post-combine mock drafts for the Giants, who hold 10 picks beginning with the sixth overall selection. Keep checking Giants.com as more projections funnel in from Indianapolis.
Pick: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
Analysis: "The Giants went public with their admiration of the Chiefs' handling of Patrick Mahomes, who sat for a year behind Alex Smith. The Giants could do the same thing here with Haskins and Eli Manning."
Pick: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
Analysis: "Another mock, another Haskins-to-the-Giants projection. It just makes sense. New York needs to secure its future at the position while it has this high pick, and Haskins has some great anticipation and feel in the pocket. Give him a year of learning from Eli Manning, not unlike what Kansas City did with Patrick Mahomes and Alex Smith, and then let him start unleashing deep balls to Odell Beckham Jr."
Pick: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
Analysis: "One of the loudest rumors at the scouting combine was how well Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins was doing in interviews with teams. One team executive who sat in on an interview with him said: 'He's smart, poised, confident. He's everything you want mentally.' The New York Giants need a quarterback of the future, and by all accounts, they want someone to learn behind Eli Manning for a short time much like Patrick Mahomes did with Alex Smith. Drafting a smart, talented quarterback who could benefit from some acclimation time in the NFL after only starting one year at Ohio State would help the Giants transition into their post-Manning era."
Pick: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
Analysis: "The Giants passed on a quarterback in the top 10 a year ago and got a generational talent at running back. The hope is that New York never has a draft pick this high again. If the G-Men like Haskins -- a Jersey-born kid who threw 50 touchdowns against top competition in his one full year as a starter -- they should snag him, and let him eventually take the torch from Eli."
Pick: Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida
Analysis: "The Giants invested quite a bit in the offensive line last year and began to see the fruits of that labor towards the end of the season. But there is still work to be done and the Giants aren't exactly sounding ready to move on from Eli Manning. Still. So adding a powerful athlete like Taylor to play on the right side will help to reset the line of scrimmage in the run game and also further upgrade pass protection for an aging Eli."
Pick: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State (projected trade with Jets to No. 3)
Analysis: "Last year, the Jets made this exact same jump to take their franchise quarterback in Sam Darnold. This year, the Giants go after their own by doing business with their Big Apple rivals. In return for their first-round pick next year and second-round pick this year, the Giants land this year's top passer and a successor to Eli Manning."
Pick: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
Analysis: "The Giants might be bringing Eli Manning back for one more season but they need a contingency plan. Haskins, a traditional pocket passer, is it. He has a strong arm, and is coming of a 2018 campaign in which he completed 70 percent of his throws and tossed 50 touchdowns."
Pick: Jawaan Taylor, OL, Florida
Analysis: "I'm not sold the Giants are drafting a quarterback."
Pick: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State (projected trade with Jets to No. 3)
Analysis: "Giants GM Dave Gettleman said he's interested in following the Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes model for developing a young quarterback behind a veteran. The Chiefs traded up to get Mahomes, and the Giants may have to follow suit to groom a passer like Haskins behind Eli Manning if the rumors are true about the Raiders looking at this year's signal-callers."
