For Giants fans, Opening Day in Major League Baseball is just another day closer to the return of football

But to hold you over for now, Giants.com looked at the most memorable season openers in franchise history as the baseball season gets underway:
Sept. 21, 1969: Trailing 23-10, Fran Tarkenton threw two touchdown passes to Don Herrmann in the final five minutes - the last with 59 seconds left - to give the Giants a 24-23 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Yankee Stadium.
Sept. 11, 1989: Raul Allegre kicked a 52-yard field goal as time expired to give the Giants a 27-24 victory over the Redskins in RFK Stadium.
Sept. 9, 1990: After sitting out all of training camp, Lawrence Taylor reported four days before the opener and sacked Randall Cunningham three times in a 27-20 victory over Philadelphia.
