The calendar has flipped to June, and the start of training camp is now less than two months away.
The Giants took the practice field Wednesday for OTA No. 8 at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center.
Here are notes from Wednesday's practice, which was heavy in the red zone:
*The Giants had a special visitor on Wednesday. Two-time Super Bowl Champion and Giants legend Justin Tuck stopped by the facility to watch practice. Tuck and Head Coach Brian Daboll were spotted chatting following the conclusion of practice.
*The first team drills were 7-on-7s, which got started with Daniel Jones finding rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger in the end zone for a short touchdown.
*Davis Webb and Austin Proehl were in sync. The two connected on two touchdowns during 7-on-7s, including one in which Proehl made a very nice catch in the back of the end zone. Proehl caught another touchdown pass from Webb in the back of the end zone during 11-on-11s later in practice.
*On the first play of 11-on-11 drills, Xavier McKinney got his hands on the ball for an interception, which he returned the other way for what would have been a sizeable gain.
*Daniel Jones found Darius Slayton for a nice gain over the middle, picking up a first down.
*Soon after, Jones hit Travis Toivonen in the end zone from a few yards out for a touchdown. It was only the first touchdown between Jones and Toivonen Wednesday, as the pair linked up for three scores during team drills, including one on a 4th and goal situation.
*Ricky Seals-Jones caught a touchdown pass in the corner of the end zone on a pass from Webb.
*David Sills had another strong practice, catching a goal line touchdown pass from Tyrod Taylor. Soon after, Sills caught another touchdown in the corner of the end zone, this time on a beautifully placed ball from Webb.
*A few of the team's defensive backs stepped up to make plays deep in the red zone. It got started with Michael Jacquet III forcing an incompletion on the goal line. Adoree' Jackson then got his hands on the ball, breaking up a pass in the end zone before Darnay Holmes did the same thing a few plays later. Towards the end of practice, Cor'Dale Flott joined in on the fun, recording a pass breakup near the goal line.
*The big defensive play of the day came late during team drills when Khalil Dorsey stepped in front of a pass for an interception and ran the other way with it for what would have certainly been a pick-six.
*Taylor and C.J. Board were back at it yet again, connecting for a touchdown from 10+ yards out. Almost immediately after, Taylor and Board paired up for another touchdown from about five yards out.
*The offensive play of the day came on one of the final plays of practice. Daniel Jones threw a perfectly placed ball to Saquon Barkley from about 25 yards out, hitting the running back in stride right at the pylon for a beautiful touchdown.
