TURNING POINT**
Kansas City successfully challenged the spot of a long third-down conversion by the Giants offense late in the third quarter. Victor Cruz's 16-yard catch was ruled just short of the first down, setting up Dexter McCluster to return the ensuing punt 89 yards for a touchdown and a 10-point lead for the Chiefs. Kansas City went on to score 24 unanswered points and notched a 31-7 victory over the Giants.

WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT THE DEFENSE
The Chiefs entered Sunday with zero turnovers through the first three games and an NFL-best plus-nine turnover differential. The Giants changed that in Week 4 and grabbed three takeaways – a fumble recovery off a botched snap and interceptions by Prince Amukama and Antrel Rolle. The Giants forced Alex Smith to beat them by bottling up All-Pro running back Jamaal Charles, who had just 14 yards on seven carries in the first half. However, Charles was able to chew up the clock down the stretch and finished with 65 yards on the ground in addition to 62 in the receiving game. Meanwhile, Spencer Paysinger led a strong performance by the linebackers with seven solo tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery. In the end, the defense gave up too many untimely first downs and big plays as the Giants offense managed just seven points.

WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT SPECIAL TEAMS**
After missing a 38-yarder last week, Josh Brown again left points on the field and went wide left on a 44-yard field goal attempt that would have tied the game before halftime. That was before the punt team gave up its second touchdown return of the season on Dexter McCluster's 89-yarder in the third quarter.
ROOKIE WATCH
Justin Pugh made his fourth start in four games at right tackle. DE Damontre Moore had two special teams tackles and got a piece of a Dustin Colquitt's punt in the first half. Meanwhile, QB Ryan Nassib, S Cooper Taylor, and DT Johnathan Hankins were on the inactive list and did not dress.
