Approaching the two-minute warning in the first half, San Diego challenged a fumble by Andre Brown. The call on the field was reversed as the ball was ruled out before the Giants running back was down, turning it over to the Chargers. Philip Rivers turned it into a touchdown to Danny Woodhead for a 24-point lead heading to the locker room en route to a 37-14 victory over the Giants.

WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT THE OFFENSE

The Giants got off to a sluggish start again on Sunday, but unlike last week, they were unable to overcome it. Despite attempts to stretch the field, the Giants couldn't keep the chains moving and ran just 54 plays the entire game. Two of their three turnovers – an interception by Eli Manning (20 of 32 passing for 259 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions) and a fumble from Andre Brown (16 carries for 81 yards) – led to touchdowns for the Chargers. The Giants did get something going with a long, 11-play touchdown drive late in the third quarter but never threatened San Diego's lead.

WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT THE DEFENSE

As the Giants' offense couldn't stay on the field on third down, their defense couldn't get off it in crunch time. The Chargers converted 10 of 15 third downs against the Giants as Rivers kept up his already-impressive completion percentage, connecting on 21 of 28 passes. With two sacks and a forced fumble by Justin Tuck, the Giants did get some pressure, but the defense was on the field for nearly 37 minutes and played from behind all afternoon.

WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT SPECIAL TEAMS

Penalties cost the Giants three points and spoiled a long kick return for the special teams outfit on Sunday. Early in the second quarter, Nick Novak missed a 41-yard field goal (wide right), but Charles James was flagged for being offside. Novak re-kicked from 36 yards and made it to give the Chargers a 10-0 lead. Ryan Mundy was later called for holding on a kick return by rookie Michael Cox, who didn't have room much of the day to make a play.

IMPACT PLAYERS

Chargers: QB Philip Rivers (21 of 28 passing, 249 yards, 3 TDs), RB Ryan Mathews (29 carries, 103 yard, TD), RB Danny Woodhead (7 carries, 42 yards, receiving TD), WR Keenan Allen (59 receiving yards, 2 TDs). Giants: DE Justin Tuck (2 sacks, forced fumble), DT Cullen Jenkins (fumble recovery), WR Hakeem Nicks (5 catches, 135 yards); TE Brandon Myers caught a touchdown for the third-straight week.
