Gift from Tisch family results in four refurbished gyms

The Tisch family, The NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee, The Snowflake Youth Foundation and The Fund for Public Schools to Join Erasmus Hall High School for a Ribbon Cutting of the Renovated Gymnasiums

Prior to Erasmus Hall High School's opening basketball game for the season, leaders from across the city will help unveil four renovated gyms. In honor of Preston Robert Tisch, the donation is a result of the Tisch family's gift to the NY/NJ Snowflake Youth Foundation, an innovative charity initiative that the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee created with the goal of providing a lasting impact in NY/NJ following Super Bowl XLVIII.

The $250,000 gift from Steven Tisch, Laurie Tisch, Jon and Lizzie Tisch, and Joan Tisch was made through The Fund for Public Schools, which is dedicated to improving New York City's public schools by attracting private investment and encouraging greater involvement by all New Yorkers in the education of our children. Erasmus' gymnasiums are used by over 2,500 students, 500 student athletes, and various outside community youth development programs.

Three of the refurbished gymnasiums will feature Preston Robert Tisch's name as a tribute. Tisch was a 1944 alumnus of the school.
