The 4-2 Giants cracked the **top 5** for the first time on CBSSports.com.

"They come off their bye week with the winless Dolphins coming to town," senior NFL columnist Pete Prisco wrote. "Isn't that two byes?"

NFC East: No. 5 Giants (previously ranked No. 8), No. 14 Cowboys (18), No. 18 Redskins (14), No. 21 Eagles (21).

The Giants shot up to No. 8 on the NFL.com Power Poll.

"Sometimes it pays not to play," writes the NFL.com staff. "The Cincinnati Bengals moved from No. 13 to No. 12, the New York Giants from No. 12 to No. 8 and the Buffalo Bills from No. 9 to No. 7. All three teams had byes."

NFC East: No. 8 Giants (12), No. 16 Cowboys (20), No. 19 Eagles (21), No. 22 Redskins (16t).

Profootballtalk.com gave the Giants their highest ranking at No. 6 in the NFL.

"The Giants are getting healthier just in time to seize control of the division no one seems to want to win," PFT's Mike Florio posted.

NFC East: No. 6 Giants (10), No. 18 Cowboys (20), No. 21 Eagles (21), No. 22 Redskins (17).

FOX Sports kept the idle Giants at No. 12.

"After the Giants dispatch the Dolphins this week, they embark on a brutal second-half schedule," former Raves head coach Brian Billick, now a FOX Sports analyst, wrote. "A 5-2 start is a must, given the rest of the schedule. If they make the playoffs, they will have earned it."NFC East: No. 12 Giants (12), No. 17 Eagles (18), No. 18 Cowboys (21), No. 21 Redskins (19).

The Giants remained No. 11 according to ESPN.com.

"The Giants are quietly in first place, and getting healthier," ESPN.com staff writer Ashley Fox wrote. "Their second-half schedule is a bear, though."
