Giants keys to victory vs. Browns

1) Get it corrected. In a loss like last week, the game comes down to the details. One correction here or there could have led to the Giants leaving Philly with a 3-1 record. The players and coaches have seen the mistakes on film all week. It's time to apply it to Sunday.

2) Score more than 17 points. Regardless of how many yards the defense has given up, it still has allowed only one touchdown in each of the last two games. Evidenced by last week's 19-17 loss, you're not going to win many games scoring 17 points in the NFL. Coughlin made a point of it at the beginning of the week.

3) Gang tackle. This applies to rookie running back Trent Richardson. He's a hard, tough runner, who is second in the NFL in total touchdowns with four (three rushing, one receiving).

4) Win the specials.Nothing could jumpstart the 1 p.m. kickoff like a big return – for either team. In terms of coverage, the Giants will be going up against a premiere return specialist in Josh Cribbs.

5) Move the chains. Converting only two of 10 third downs, one more fresh set could have made the difference last week.

6) Force a turnover. The Giants failed to do so in Week 4, which marked the sixth straight game they've lost in which they did not have a takeaway.

7) 52 is the Mike! Keep tabs on where middle linebacker D'Qwell Jackson is at all times. Along with three sacks this season, he has two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown. The strength of Cleveland's defense is in its linebackers.

8) Pressure the 28-year-old. Brandon Weeden isn't the typical rookie quarterback, but he is still a quarterback. And the key for the Giants is to get to him.

9) Start strong. The Giants' late magic wasn't there last week. The best way to fix that is to avoid the situation altogether.

10) Move on. The best part of football is you get to strap up the next week and redefine yourself. The first quarter of the season is done. There are still three laps left.
