The Giants fortified their offensive line in 2000 with Brown, Parker, and Zeigler, who paved the way for an offense that averaged 125.6 yards per game on the ground, a 37.5-yard gain over the 1999 average. Quarterback Kerry Collins was sacked 28 times; in 1999 Giants quarterbacks were sacked 42 times. Collins had the best season of his career, setting career highs in passes (529), completions (311), completion percentage (58.8) and touchdown passes (22).

Harrison, Jenkins and Vernon were part of a major free-agent haul in 2016, propelling the Giants to the No. 2 scoring defense in their first season together as well as the team's first postseason berth since 2011. Harrison earned first-team All-Pro honors while Jenkins picked up a Pro Bowl nod.
