Based on what draft experts are saying around the league, Giants.com compiled the top five prospects at each position in the upcoming NFL Draft, which runs May 8-10. So until Mr. Irrelevant is called in the seventh round with the 256th overall pick, you'll want to keep this close as the Giants prepare for the 2014 campaign.

  • Eric Ebron, North Carolina
NFL.COM: Highly athletic, highly productive "F" tight end loaded with upside and mismatch capability. Possesses the speed, movement skills, hands and run-after-catch skills to emerge as a playmaking weapon in the pros, though has room to continue developing as a blocker.
  • Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Washington
NFL.COM: An intriguing height-weight-speed prospect, Seferian-Jenkins has all the tools to be a legitimate No. 1 tight end in the NFL, though he has to maintain focus and consistency and continue improving as a blocker. Has good core strength to develop into a functional, all-around tight end if he learns to get after it in the run game. Suspect quarterback play dipped production as a senior.
  • Jace Amaro, Texas Tech
NFL.COM: Very productive, finesse, detached tight end who racked up exceptional production as a junior when he was essentially deployed as an inside receiver for the Red Raiders. Will be best utilized in a similar role in the pros.
  • Troy Niklas, Notre Dame
NFL.COM: A converted DE/OLB who emerged from the shadow of Bengals 2013 first-rounder Tyler Eifert, Niklas is the latest in a strong line of NFL tight ends produced by Notre Dame. He boasts an intriguing combination of size, athleticism, receiving ability and blocking ability to develop into a bona fide, balanced, No. 1 tight end. Has played tight end for just two years and is clearly ascending.
  • C.J. Fiedorowicz, Iowa
NFL.COM: Big-framed, linear and dependable, Fiedorowicz looks the part and has balanced skills to be a legitimate "Y" tight end in the pros. Is an asset as a competitive blocker and as a sure-handed receiver. Draft status could benefit from an average tight end crop.
