Where is DaMontre Moore? The kid looked great against the Steelers and hasn't been seen since. I know he had a shoulder injury but he's not even listed on the injury report. He has to be able to do something on the field. Why is he not playing?
Dear Sal:
Because he hasn't yet proved to the coaches that he deserves more playing time. But that could soon change. Here's what Perry Fewell said yesterday: "I think his absence with his preseason injury put him behind a little bit. We're trying to slowly integrate him back into the fold. When I say 'slowly integrate,' we're trying to get him more reps in practice, so he understands the calls, so he knows exactly what we're doing. We're trying to bring him back to the fold to help us in that respect." And yes, DaMontre had a good game in Pittsburgh. But he was playing against many opponents who no longer wear an NFL uniform, so I wouldn't put too much stock in that. Moore has to prove he can produce in the regular season.
