CHASE BLACKBURN... WHATS THE DEAL? GIVE THAT MAN A PROMOTION/MORE RESPONSIBILITY... IS HE GOING TO BE A STARTER OR WHAT? HE WAS THE ONLY MAN ON THE D LAST YEAR PLAYING WITH ANY KIND OF INTENSITY... HE IS A BIGGER, STRONGER, LINEBACKING JIM LEOHNARD... I KNOW HE IS OUR KICK COVERAGE DYNAMO BUT C'MON, WHY CAN'T WE GIVE HIM A STARTING POSITION?
Dear Zoro:
Blackburn certainly believes he deserves one. In a previous Mailbag, I omitted his name from a list of candidates to start at middle linebacker. After reading it, Blackburn informed me that he would be starting in 2010 – maybe not when the season opens, but he said his history is to start the season as a reserve and then advance to the starting lineup. And that's what he expects to happen again this year. He wasn't angry or unpleasant about it – just determined. So let's see how he does in the spring camps and training camp. Blackburn has overcome the odds before and believes he will do it again.
Hey! I'm a Giants Ticket Holder. Who gets tickets for the 2014 superbowl?
Dear Jenny:
We have received several letters about tickets for the Super Bowl in 2014. This what we can tell you:
- The Super Bowl is run by the NFL and The New Meadowlands Stadium is the host stadium. The league makes all decisions regarding ticket allocation: i.e. to the networks, league sponsors, teams, host city committee
- The Giants will receive a limited number of tickets from the league for distribution. The organization will conduct a random lottery to award PSL holders the opportunity to purchase tickets to the game. That number will change if the Giants are participants in the game.
- All PSL holders for the 2013 season will be eligible for the lottery. Details of the lottery will be determined at a later date.
- NFL sets all pricing for tickets.
What are your thoughts on Clint Sintim's progress? What role do you see him playing in this year's defense?
Dear Josh:
It appears early in the OTAs that Sintim will be given every opportunity to win the starting strongside linebacker job. He has been lining up with the first team. It's difficult to full gauge anyone's progress right now, because the players aren't wearing pads. But Sintim has worked hard and the coaches are excited about his potential. It seems that job is his to lose.
