Eisen's Mailbag: 2014 Draft Redo?

**

With Chris Snee's retirement and Odell Beckham's inability to practice, how much do you think Tom Coughlin wishes he could do a redo on the draft this year?** -MikeDear Mike:
Zero. Coach Coughlin does not dwell on what-if or what-could-have-been. He coaches the players he has. Besides, the Giants drafted an offensive lineman in the second round, Weston Richburg, who might win the right guard spot that Snee vacated. And since it's not even August, it's a bit early to get go into hand-wringing mode about Beckham's absence. Hopefully, he will soon return to the field and catch many passes in the regular season. If he does, his time missed early in camp will be long forgotten.

](http://www.giants.com/draft-2014.html)With Tom Coughlin's penchant for not playing rookies, I find it hard to believe that with all the time Odell Beckham has missed that he will even get a chance to be a factor this year. Your thoughts?-Mike**Dear Mike:
Coughlin doesn't like to play rookies? Someone forgot to tell Justin Pugh, who started all 16 games last season, or David Wilson, who set a franchise record for kickoff return yardage in 2012. And isn't it a bit early to be writing off Odell Beckham Jr.'s first season? We're still 5½ weeks from opening night. He should be on the field well before then. And even if he isn't, you still shouldn't be surprised if he contributes this year. Go back to 2011, when Prince Amukamara missed the first nine games because of a broken foot. No one gave up on him then and Amukamara was a factor in the secondary in both the regular season and playoffs.
