Last week, Russell Wilson contributed 43 fantasy points on DraftKings out of the quarterback position. Nailing your QB selection is essential, and Wilson appears to be in a great spot to post big numbers again in Week 8. Wilson ($8400 on DraftKings) draws a Panthers defense that has been one of the worst in the NFL all season. In the last 5 weeks, the Panthers have allowed 12 passing touchdowns with at least 2 allowed in each game. They've also allowed at least 90 receiving yards and a TD to an opposing WR in 4 of those 5 games.
Wilson has been the beneficiary of a Seattle offense that is passing on 5% more plays than they were a season ago and his fantasy production has skyrocketed on the road in 2014 where the Seahawks are passing at an even higher rate (54% of offensive plays). In the three road games for Seattle, Wilson has averaged 238 PaYd, 2 PaTD, 82 RuYd, and 0.67 RuTD for a whopping 29.75 fantasy points per game. A lot of this has been due to the Seahawks playing from behind but with Seattle dropping two of their last three games it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see him forced to take on a larger role in the offense again in Week 8. The Seahawks team may be in turmoil in the eyes of the media, but Wilson's fantasy value has never been higher making him an elite QB play at $8400.
With Wilson locked into your lineups, you should try to handcuff him with one of his receivers to maximize your upside in the Millionaire Maker tournament. Doug Baldwin had 11 targets last weekend after the Percy Harvin trade and converted that into a 7 catch, 123 yard and 1 TD performance. Given the defensive struggles against WR's this season, Baldwin is looking at another top tier matchup that he should be able to exploit. Pair Wilson ($8400) with the cheaper Baldwin ($4700 on DraftKings) for a nice, high-upside duo in DraftKings Week 8 NFL Tournaments.
