GM Dave Gettleman previews Scouting Combine on "Big Blue Kickoff Live"
It wasn't media day just for quarterbacks and receivers on Tuesday. Head coaches and general managers took the podium and kicked off the first day of the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine. Dave Gettleman joined "Big Blue Kickoff Live" on Radio Row and spoke about a variety of topics, including this year's class, the Giants being "open for business" with the No. 4 pick, new combine drills, and what to look for in free agency. This is all happening during his first combine experience with new head coach Joe Judge.
"It's been a great experience," Gettleman said. "He's had great training. He's worked for arguably two of the most successful guys (Bill Belichick and Nick Saban) at their levels … in recent history and he's very bright. He's smart and he worked for the Patriots, so he's wicked smart. The bottom line is it's been a treat. We've had great conversations, and it's been fun watching him put his staff together."
Combine Schedule: OL, RB take podium on Wednesday
Group 2, which is comprised of offensive linemen, running backs and specialists, are set to meet the media starting Wednesday at 8 a.m. ET. Also up on the schedule for them today are medical exams, position coach interviews and psychological testing. Meanwhile, the bench press event will begin with Group 1 (quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends).
NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks unveiled his first position rankings for the 2020 draft.

Will there be a new king of the 40-yard dash?
Henry Ruggs III is determined to set the fastest 40-yard dash time in Scouting Coming history. The Alabama wide receiver said Tuesday that he is "trying to hit the lowest ever," which the Bengals' John Ross has held for three years at 4.22 seconds. Ruggs said he has not asked for times during his workouts; rather, he runs on feel. If it felt good, he would go back to his trainer and ask, "Did it look good?"
But is that tough not knowing his practice times?
"Honestly, no. I know what I'm expected to run when I go in," he said. "To me, it's more about confidence. If I'm confident that I can run a good time, then I don't need the clock to tell me that I ran well."
Tune in Thursday night to find out if he breaks it.
