16) What's the status with Daniel Jones in his rehab progress?
Matt Citak: Daniel Jones dealt with a tough 2023 campaign, which included a neck injury that held him out of three games and the torn ACL that ended his season in Week 9. Jones told reporters back in April that his neck is "100 percent healthy" and that was a "stinger-type injury that's pretty common in football."
As for the knee injury, Jones is now over eight months removed from the day it happened. The sixth-year quarterback participated in 7-on-7 drills during spring practices, but the rehab plan did not include full 11-on-11 periods. Nonetheless, Jones was seen running full speed, cutting, and showing good agility. And when we last heard from him at minicamp in mid-June, Jones was encouraged by his progress.
"Knee feels good, really good," he said. "I think every week I've continued to feel better and better and taking steps. Doing a lot of the same things I've been doing, but doing them better and feeling sharper, cleaner with a lot of my cuts. Kind of working on getting that explosiveness back and then taking steps in improving my change of direction and cutting from even where it was before the injury. ... I expect to be ready to go the first day of training camp."
