EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Daniel Jones' unprecedented achievement has earned him an NFL honor.

Three days after becoming the first player in Giants history with 200 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in a game, Jones today was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Jones' dual effort led the Giants to their fourth consecutive triumph, a 23-17 victory against the Jaguars in Jacksonville.

Jones completed 19 of 30 passes for 202 yards, a 32-yard touchdown to Darius Slayton on the game's opening possession and no interceptions, the fourth consecutive game he did not throw a pick.

Jones also used his legs to help the Giants win. He set career highs with 11 rushing attempts for 107 yards (9.7-yard avg.), including a one-yard touchdown to put the Giants ahead for good with 5:31 remaining in the fourth quarter.

He is one of three quarterbacks with at least 200 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in a game this season. The others are Arizona's Kyler Murray and Baltimore's Lamar Jackson (twice).

Prior to Sunday, the most rushing yards by a Giants player with 200+ passing yards in a game was 95 by Jones on Sept. 16, 2021, at Washington. Jones threw for 249 yards. The most passing yards by a player with 100+ rush yards prior to Jones was 72 by Ed Danowski on Nov. 25, 1934, vs. Boston. Danowski ran for 105 yards.

Jones' 107 rushing yards are the fourth-highest total by a quarterback in Giants history, and the most for a player at that position in 76 years. Harry Newman ran for 114 yards vs. Green Bay on Nov. 11, 1934, and 108 yards at Boston on Oct. 8, 1933. Frank Filchock also had 108 rushing yards, on Oct. 6, 1946, at Pittsburgh.

Jones' 24-yard scramble in the fourth quarter was the Giants' longest run in Jacksonville. It is the 12th time Jones has had the Giants' longest run in a game.

The rushing touchdown was Jones' career-high third of the season and the eighth of his career.

Jones increased his season total to 343 rushing yards, the second highest for a Giants quarterback in the Super Bowl era. Jones ran for 423 yards in 2020.

Jones has won four consecutive starts for the first time in his career and his six victories this season are a career high; he won five games as a starter in 2020.

Jones led the Giants to victory from a fourth-quarter deficit or tie for the fifth time this season. He totaled three such games in his first three seasons.

This is the third Player of the Week Award won by the Giants this season. Saquon Barkley won the NFC Offensive POW Award after rushing for 164 yards in the season-opening victory at Tennessee. A week later, Graham Gano was named the conference's Special Teams Player of the Week after kicking four field goals, including 51 and 56-yarders, in a 19-16 victory against Carolina.

This is the third time Jones has been selected Offensive Player of the Week. He won the award after his first NFL start in Week 3 of the 2019 season, when he threw two touchdowns passes and ran for two scores at Tampa Bay, and again in Week 4 of the 2021 season after leading the Giants to victory in New Orleans.
