The Giants tight end had been hospitalized since Oct. 2 at Hackensack University Medical Center, where doctors treated him for a MRSA (staph) infection. He was released on Tuesday and returned to his family.
Fells, one of the most respected players on the team, recently posted a video of his homecoming with a special thanks to all his supporters.
Fells and his wife Nahall have a son, Lennon, and a daughter, Layla.
Last week, the Giants dedicated their thrilling victory over the 49ers to Fells and presented the game ball to him via Skype while he was still hospitalized.
Larry Donnell, a fellow tight end, caught the game-winning touchdown with 21 seconds left in the San Francisco game.
