Daily Blitz - May 1: Where will Eli rank?

blitzelibrady.jpg

So far, we know Tim Tebow and Tony Romo made the cut. The question now is where Eli Manning will rank in the "Top 100: Players of 2012."

Decided by the votes of current players, the NFL Network's poll will once again become a source of great fodder to carry us through the offseason (especially when it turns up surprises like leaving Eli off the list altogether last year).

With that said, the 2012 edition is underway, premiering 91-100 on Saturday night once the draft wrapped up. The NFL Films-produced series will now return to its regular time on Wednesdays at 8:00 PM ET, beginning May 2.

Here's a look at the first wave to make the cut:

  1. RB Chris Johnson, Titans
  2. C Ryan Kalil, Panthers
  3. RB Willis McGahee, Broncos
  4. OT Donald Penn, Buccaneers
  5. LB D'Qwell Jackson, Browns
  6. QB Tim Tebow, Jets
  7. RB Marshawn Lynch, Seahawks
  8. CB Cortland Finnegan, Rams
  9. FB John Kuhn, Packers
  10. QB Tony Romo, Cowboys

Last season, three Giants made the list: Justin Tuck (60), Antrel Rolle (68), and Chris Snee (77). From a news release from the league this weekend, we know there will be 39 new names this time around with 24 players having a combined 31 Super Bowl rings. So we could expect some more Giants to be added, such as Jason-Pierre-Paul, Victor Cruz, and Hakeem Nicks, to name a few.* *It's just a matter of where will they go on the list.
