Two weeks ago, we found out the Giants were the third-most popular team around the NFL, according to a fan poll released by ESPN.
In the first quarter of 2012, they sat behind only the Packers and Cowboys, who finished at the top of the list. Along with the Eagles at No. 9, the NFC East had three teams in the top 10 and it should come as no surprise that the division recently ranked as the most popular division.
Conducting 1,500 monthly telephone interviews with a national sample of Americans age 12 and older, the pollsters found 22.2 percent favored the NFC East, followed by the NFC North (15.9), AFC East (11.6), AFC North (10.6), while 10.3 didn't favor any division. The bottom, in order, were the AFC West, NFC South, NFC West and AFC South in last place.
- NFC East 22.2
- NFC North 15.9
- AFC East 11.6
- AFC North 10.6
- None 10.3
- AFC West 9.3
- NFC South 7.5
- NFC West 7.1
- AFC South 5.6
