Who are the 25 best players in the NFL under the age of 25?
NFL analyst Elliot Harrison tackled the question in a recent feature for NFL.com. Harrison's All-Under-25 Team featured, fittingly enough, 25 players, and a pair of Giants made the roster. Second-year pro Evan Engram is the lone tight end on the squad and two-time Pro Bowler Landon Collins is one of two safeties to make the cut, the other being the Saints' Marcus Williams.
On Engram, Harrison wrote:
"Amidst a brutal season in New York, Engram developed into a bright spot as a rookie. While more people focused on O.J. Howard in the 2017 NFL Draft (the tight end taken at No. 19 overall), Engram (No. 23) quietly tallied 64 catches for 722 yards and six TDs."
On Collins, Harrison wrote:
"Collins is already one of the top safeties in the game at 24 years old. His 2016 campaign was worthy of strong DPOY consideration. Besides ranking with Harrison Smith and Earl Thomas, he has averaged a remarkable 114 tackles per year."
Engram lived up to the hype as the Giants' first-round pick last year. The Ole Miss product tallied 722 receiving yards on 64 receptions to go with six touchdowns. All marks led NFL rookie tight ends, as did his 48.1 yards per game average and 11 catches of 20 yards or more.
After finishing third in the balloting for NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2016, Collins followed up with another strong performance in 2017. His 104 combined tackles ranked third among NFL defensive backs. The Alabama product added two interceptions and two fumble recoveries to his stat sheet while starting all 15 games he played last season.
