Tom Coughlin, the two-time Super Bowl winning head coach of the New York Giants, is working on a book about his system of relentless preparation and old-school tough-mindedness. It will be published by the Portfolio imprint of Penguin Group in March 2013. World rights were acquired by Portfolio President and Publisher Adrian Zackheim from Sandy Montag, Senior Corporate Vice President of IMG Sports and Entertainment, and Scott Waxman of the Waxman Leavell Literary Agency.
The book is tentatively titled EARN THE RIGHT TO WIN: How Success In Any Field Starts With Superior Preparation. Coach Coughlin is collaborating with David Fisher as a co-writer.
Said Mr. Zackheim: "Preparation is easy to praise but very hard to master. No modern coach, in any sport, understands that better than Tom Coughlin. We're thrilled to be working with him, and we look forward to a classic leadership book filled with great stories and insights from his forty-year career."
Coach Coughlin, head coach of the Giants since 2004, is one of the most successful coaches in NFL history. He led the Giants to Super Bowl victories in both 2008 and 2012. Before that he coached the expansion Jacksonville Jaguars for nine seasons, leading them to two appearances in the AFC Championship Game. He was also previously the head football coach at Boston College and an assistant coach for three NFL teams. He lives in New Jersey.
