ONE WAY TICKET
BY MATT COHEN
Brad Wing first punted around the time he was in the 9th grade.
Growing up in his hometown of Melbourne, Australia, Wing had three buddies that played together in a band – One Way Ticket. Wing had just recently picked up playing the drums. Two of the bandmates, the lead singer and bass guitarist, took notice at how good he was getting. So the story goes that the original drummer of One Way Ticket got the boot, and Brad was in.
It caused a fight for sure, but Wing, who was in the band for about a year, looks back on it now and laughs.
"I loved playing," said Wing. "I loved Blink-182 back in the day and I played the drums because of Travis Barker."
Does he still play?
"I haven't played in a long time, but I feel like I still could, though," said Wing. "I do play some rock band. It's not quite the same, but it keeps the rust off."
