"The Catch" already has a display in Canton.
Now it could pick up another honor on the night before the Super Bowl.
Odell Beckham Jr.'s 43-yard touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12 that sent the world of sports -- and beyond -- into a frenzy is now up for the "Bridgestone Performance Play of the Year."
The backwards, fingertip catch is one of 32 plays nominated for the award. Fans can vote now for their top five, and the winning play will be revealed during the NFL Honors awards show on Jan. 31, the night before Super Bowl XLIX. The two-hour prime-time special from Symphony Hall at the Phoenix Convention Center will air nationally at 9 p.m. ET on NBC with red carpet coverage beginning an hour earlier on NFL Network.
It could be a busy night for Beckham as the AP Offensive Player of the Year will also be presented at the show.
While racking up franchise rookie records with 91 catches for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns, the Giants' first-round draft choice was twice named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month in addition to four Pepsi Rookie of the Week nods.
