Winning a World Cup is something many professional soccer players can only dream about.
Being a part of two championship teams is an even rarer feat, one that former U.S. Women's National Team goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris can proudly say she accomplished.
Harris, who now serves as Global Creative Advisor for Gotham FC, was a guest on the most recent episode of the "Her Playbook" podcast, where she joined host Madelyn Burke to discuss a variety of topics, including her favorite moments from the championship runs, the fight for equal pay as female athletes and what the future looks like for Gotham FC.
"For me, everyone asks what was my favorite group or time or team," Harris said. "And I have to say every year is so special, and to play for the US Women's National Team for over 10 years is crazy to even say out loud. But that 2019 team ticked different. I think why people got so down and just like supported our team to a whole different level is because we finally were just super unbuttoned."
