THE PLAY: Aaron Rodgers pass short right intended for Greg Jennings INTERCEPTED by Chase Blackburn at GB 21. Chase Blackburn to GB 12 for 9 yards (tackled by Jermichael Finley).DOWN AND DISTANCE: 2nd and 6 at GB 10.TIME: 7:32, 2nd QTR.CLICK HERE TO WATCHLEADING UP: Down 14-10, the Giants were forced to punt and Steve Weatherford pinned the Packers back at their own six-yard line. A four-yard run by Ryan Grant moved them up to the 10 before Rodgers made just his fifth mistake of the season.WHAT WE SAW: Blackburn, the linebacker who had just signed the Wednesday before the game, dropped back into coverage as tight end Jermichael Finley cut across the middle in front of him. Behind him were wide receivers Randall Cobb in the slot and Greg Jennings on the outside running posts to the inside. Rodgers on the quick play-action threw a pass intended for Jennings, but Blackburn stepped in front for the clean interception.WHAT BLACKBURN SAW: "We were just playing a cover two and they tried to run up the seam there," Blackburn told WFAN's Kim Jones on Monday night. "They were a little bit tighter to each other than I think they would normally run in the pass. On film they were always a little bit farther apart. So I was kind of able to cover the area – both of them with myself just because of the relationship of their routes. With our defensive linemen getting the pressure that they got, it kind of had him throw into a blind spot and I had cheated that way anyway off my hash and was able to come up with the interception."AFTER THE PLAY: During the ensuing TV timeout, Justin Tuck kidded the reigning Super Bowl MVP. "I was messing around with him, saying like 'why did you throw that pick?" Tuck told Mike Francesa on WFAN. "He was like, 'because my wide receiver ran the wrong route.' He said 'I knew you guys were in [cover] two.'"THE AFTERMATH: With the ball deep in Packers territory, Eli Manning hit Hakeem Nicks for 11 yards as he was pushed out of bounds at the one-yard line. On the next play, Brandon Jacobs powered in to give the Giants a three-point lead after the extra point.COACH'S TAKE: "We matched interception for interception," Tom Coughlin said after the game. "They ran it in the end zone and it took us a couple plays but it was a big play." Join other diehard Giants Fans!
