1. Hankins likes Kuhn as a linemate.*Second-year defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins has been paired with Markus Kuhn on the second-team defensive line. "It's been great. It's been awesome. He's been back healthy, full-go, and just ready to compete. We're pretty deep at defensive tackle, so we've just got to do what we've got to do. [Defensive line] coach [Robert] Nunn has done a great job with the rotations." *

2. Eli thought the offense clicked yesterday.** In the first fully padded practice of training camp, quarterback Eli Manning liked the tempo the team played with on Sunday at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. "I think guys are just starting to understand the tempo of the offense, the timing of the routes, kind of all the adjustments, all the plays we can get into, and it's coming faster for the quarterbacks, also."

3. The Giants are looking for both an all-around player and a specialist at tight end.Tight ends coach Kevin M. Gilbride was asked what he's looking for in the competition at his position. "We're looking for the complete tight end who can do it all," Gilbride said. "But we also need guys who are role players, guys who can be specialists in certain areas as far as if he's best at executing a certain block, he's going to have those opportunities to make those plays in the game. If he's best at a certain route, he's going to have those opportunities to make the plays during the game." Asked later if he's seen anybody that can be the overall tight end, Gilbride said they all have a shot at doing it. **

4. QB Coach Langsdorf wants 70-percent completion rate.**
   New quarterbacks coach Danny Langsdorf said the ultimate goal for all quarterbacks is completing 70 percent of passes, which has been done fewer than 10 times in the history of the NFL.

5. Nassib felt more pressure last year. Ryan Nassib, who is now competing for the backup quarterback job behind Eli Manning, said that he actually felt "a little bit more pressure" last season because rookies are expected to produce quickly in the current NFL. Now, as a second-year pro, he's had a full season and feels less pressure.

6. Manningham isn't taking anything for granted. *Wide receiver Mario Manningham, a Super Bowl hero for the Giants from just a few years ago, knows his roster spot isn't guaranteed when the final 53-man roster is set. The past is in the past for Manningham, who returned to Big Blue this year after two injury-plagued seasons with the 49ers. "It's not easier because I still have to make the team," he said. *

7. Putting on the pads was "bittersweet" for Rolle.** Safety Antrel Rolle is ready for the Giants' first preseason game coming off Sunday's practice in pads. "You're going up against your own guys, so you can't really go full throttle the way you want to go, as opposed to this upcoming Sunday," he said. The Giants are set to face the Buffalo Bills in the annual Hall of Fame game on Sunday, Aug. 3, in Canton, Ohio.
