Here are five things you need to know about the Giants' second round draft pick:
A DOMINANT FORCE
Tomlinson was a dominant force up front on an Alabama defense that finished first, third, and fourth in scoring the last three years. The Crimson Tide also allowed the fewest rushing yards per game over the last two seasons. As a senior in 2016, Tomlinson collected 62 total tackles and added three sacks, seven quarterback hurries and four pass breakups.
ROLL TIDE
In Tomlinson's three seasons of playing, Alabama went 40-4, claimed three SEC championships, appeared in two CFP National Championship Games and won one. The Crimson Tide also won the BCS National Championship when he redshirted as a freshman in 2012. Tomlinson played in one game in 2013 before a knee injury ended his season.
ALL ABOUT THE CRIMSON
Tomlinson was pursued by Harvard during his college recruitment. However, he chose the other Crimson and signed with Nick Saban's Alabama program. He was part of a loaded 2012 recruiting class that included Giants All-Pro safety Landon Collins.

NFL.COM SCOUTING REPORT
Good arm length with power in his large hands. Fires jarring punch into blockers quickly and is in control of the rep. Has good feel for double teams. Broad, powerful hips and strong post leg helps him drop anchor against down blocks. Awareness and power helps him constrict his gaps. Maintains two-gap responsibility until it's time to tackle. Doesn't linger on blocks long. Stacks and sheds with consistency. Locates ball quickly. Recognizes run-direction tendency from certain formations. Long, lateral step allows him to get head-start on blocker and prevent being reached. Quality motor and effort. Chases outside his area like he expects to make the play. Willing to do dirty work in Alabama's twisting defensive scheme. Does outstanding job of occupying both blockers on twists. Active hands in passing lane to bat down passes.
