While the football world turns its attention to outgoing upperclassmen ahead of next week's Senior Bowl, Friday was the deadline for underclassmen to apply for special eligibility in the 2020 NFL Draft. They have a three-day grace period to reconsider before the league sends an approved list to its 32 clubs on Jan. 21.
In 2019, 103 players met the league's three-year eligibility rule and entered their name in the pool of prospects. Of those, 30 went undrafted (29 percent). The previous year, a record 106 underclassmen declared.
