GIANTS NOTES:

-           Collins has picked up a Super Bowl ring in each of the last 2 seasons without appearing in a game. He was on the Indianapolis Colts’ injured reserve list when they won Super Bowl XLI and a game-day inactive when the Giants won Super Bowl XLII.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

-           In 2007, signed to the Giants’ practice squad on Sept. 11 and to the active roster on Dec. 16, two days after Jeremy Shockey suffered a season-ending fractured fibula…Was inactive for the final 2 regular season games and all 4 postseason games.
-           On regular season action was 3 games with St. Louis in 2005. Did not catch a pass.

COLLEGE:

-           At Notre Dame, played in 36 career games as a LB, WR and TE…Had 14 tackles (11 solo), 1 stop for loss, 2 blocked punts…Caught 6 passes for 67 yards and returned a punt 28 yards…All his receptions were in his senior season, when he played 12 games at tight end.

OFF-THE-FIELD ACTIVITY:

-           Joined several teammates to visit New York City Foodbank’s Café Cielo in the Bronx prior to Thanksgiving to speak to kids about the importance of nutrition and exercise.
-           Joined teammates to visit wounded soldiers at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, in Washington, D.C. prior to the Super Bowl champions’ trip to the White House.
